I got a feeling Panthers AT Lions on thanksgiving day

Recommended Posts

look st the lions opponents at home this season, packers,vikings,bears,falcons,chiefs,panthers,chargers,49ers . they want possibly the easiest opponent to play on thanksgiving at home, since they have not won a thanksgiving day game in like 8 years. you know they arent going to play nfc north opponents so that leaves only 5 teams. you know they arent going to play the falcons, the falcons will have a ton of prime time games this season. the chiefs and chargers will get a few primetime games as well. that leaves the 49ers and the panthers. cam newton going first overall, a new head coach in rivera. that to me sounds like the match up the nfl wants. and jerry richardson has said before he wanted to get into the thanksgiving day game door. just a feeling i got

From 77 on, when the Lions have played on the network with NFC games they've only NOT played a division rival twice (NYG 82, ATL 05)

We don't play them next year (link)

even if you guys did play @DAL, they have the CBS game anyways (barring the networks flipping rotation). As it stands, the AFCN gets shut out of Thanksgiving games (unless they get scheduled in the NFLN game), but a flip would shut out the AFCE.

If the rotation sticks, DET's opponents would be one of (GB, MIN, CHI, ATL, CAR, SF) and DAL plays either BUF or MIA.

If they flipped it, DET would either play KC or SD and DAL would have one of (NYG, PHI, WAS, STL, or SEA)

Lions are a confirmed opponent next year, and it'll be at their place.

Since DET is supposed to be on FOX this year, you can eliminate KC and SD.

New England played them last year on Thanksgiving....Guess it was on CBS then. Weird that they wouldn't think of including an AFC team. It's not like they don't ever cover inter-conference games..
