NFP on Clausen

If we pick up a vet in free agency then Clausen could be in jeopardy but if we draft Newton we will keep Moore and Clausen this year.

I still think if Clausen goes into camp and doesn't look to fit the downfield attacking offense (again).....they part with him. Realistically, he would be wasting a valuable roster spot.

We won't cut Clausen this year even if we draft Cam. They will at least hope for the chance to trade him at future time like Brady Quinn was. Remember most say Hurney still believes in Clausen, so I don't see them cutting Clausen.

holding onto garbage in hopes of trading it.......ain't smart. There aren't a lot of Josh McDaniels' floating around. Browns got lucky......teams like the Patriots are smart. Rather be smart than lucky.

I mean if Rivera says Clausen is garbage and doesn't fit his system.......I doubt Hurney is going to say but you still have to keep him this year just b/c.

If he would have showed anything at all we wouldn't have this problem. No one wanted him to go out there and be Peyton Manning in his first games but the dude ended up being almost as bad as Chris Weinke. If he just would have been Trent Dilfer level his first year it'd all be good right now and he'd have a nice shiny new WR named AJ coming his way in 10 days.

If we cut Clausen it will further my decreasing faith with our front office. Hurney or someone is Clausen + this year's #1 failing before I say someone needs to get the boot. Plus the hole Armanti things. Obviously someone is fuging up our drafting whether it be scouts or Hurney whatever this poo needs to end, way too many mistakes.

You beat me to it. As bad as the 2001 cats were, Weinke was 10x the QB Clausen is (so far). He made some atrocious decisions late in games a lot, but at least we were in those games. Clausens nickname should be "3 & Out" because I swear that's all I ever saw from him. Even his first TD to Stewart was outright luck on a completely broken play.

It's funny reading the same guys still crapping on Clausen after all this time.

It will be fun watching the you guys defending Cam Newton for not reading NFL defenses, throwing lots of picks, inevitably mouthing off at the coaching staff out of frustration, and bringing tons of Auburn controversy/baggage to Carolina... all on a #1 pick's salary.
