well, maybe I missed it...but was the background of the leader of the group?  We know he did bad things at the command of others.  Maybe he was a marked man and being "sorry" and changing doesn't matter to someone wanting revenge.

Yeah, I'm sure we'll find out more about what happened with that group.  At least, I hope so

Also how about a round of applause for the actress that portrayed Lyanna Mormont, and the actor that played Robett Glover... Both did outstanding jobs in their limited roles last night.

It was nice to see lyanna..  But not the lyanna I want to see

FUG YEAH THE HOUND!!!!!

I love that guy.  So glad he isnt dead

Prediction:  Cersei is going to demand her trial by combat and name The Mountain as her champion.  And somehow, someway Sandor is going to be the other champion.

Clegane Bowl 2016 is going to be the battle for the ages.  Minstrels will sing songs about it for 1,000 years

Gotta be Cleganebowl next week. Bastard bowl week after.

Too quick for Cleganebowl IMO. I think next week sets it up after the Hound goes on his killing spree, then heads back to Kings Landing for Cleganebowl in the finale. Agreed on Bastard bowl being episode 9, though.

Season ends with aftermath of Snow/Ramsay's battle, Dany getting ships, Cleganebowl, Bran visiting the Tower of Joy (and maybe something weird with young Ned happening), and a shot of the Night King doing something to keep them in play.

Didn't they say that episode nine is titled "the battle of the bastards"?  I thought I read that somewhere

I have seen several discussions regarding Sansa's letter and who it is going to.  Littlefinger is fairly obvious, but I have heard a few less obvious candidates.  Asking the Blackfish to give up Riverrun and come North.  Asking for Tyrion's help, ie the Dragon Queens.  Asking one of the northern families to switch sides.

I don't see the Blackfish giving up his ancestral home for Winterfell.  And Tyrion is to far away even if he could help.  One of the families switching sides is possible I guess, although I can't imagine it would be the Karstarks or Umbers changing sides.  Perhaps the letter is for House Manderly.  Littlefinger is still the most likely, especially with a few excerpts of the letter that were seen.

In the books, the blackfish escapes after edmure surrenders riverrun. Maybe they'll combine the storylines and he'll get the letter and escape and head up north? Who knows
