what I a most looking forward to in the next couple episodes.

Arya.  We know the many faced god crew are coming to kill her....and you know she going to tell them now that she has Needle back... "There is only one god, and his name is Death. And there is only one thing we say to Death: 'Not today".

Arya has Needle, Sam has Heartsbane. Uncle Benjin is Coldhands. Bran has visions of "BURN THEM ALL"

There wasn't a ton of action but there was a lot of stuff going on, how anyone can gripe about this one is beyond me.

It wasn't bad, GOT has just been killing it lately.  I get the feeling this episode was basically a brief calm before it gets nuts in the next 3.  The Snow/Ramsay battle should be an epic episode

Good article about how the TV show might make Martin unmotivated.

Yeah, I don't think he will for lots of reasons...

one is the pace he writes makes it impossible.  That IMO ends the talk

the other is I think in the back of his mind he would prefer to critique the shows finish and tease about how he would do it.  Never having to actually confront which finish was better.  I mean if the TV goes rogue of what he states he wants to do....and a lot of it works better than that sucks for the "mastermind"

people expect a major death or battle every episode now, it's ridiculous

For those of you wondering  if the series would finish-   See The Wheel of Time- Jordan died - Sanderson completed the series.  As long as Martin has great notes  and a dedicated staff that knows what's what it can be done.

I hate to say it, but I'm a sucker for a moving, inspirational speech in...I'm dumb and can't use the spoiler tag...  I'll just say I enjoyed the episode because it set a lot of plot points in motion.  Not the most action packed episode, but it was great to see how the stories are starting to set themselves up.

As far as Martin and his books, he's going to have to do something, or else the show is going to completely overshadow his books.  The ball is in his court.

Agree... I would have followed her after that...  best part of the episode.

Honestly idc about Martin at this point.  If he publishes the books, I'll read them... if not, I'll be content with the show.

Yep, I see that for the largest swath of fans.  I mean, the books are wonderful!  I started reading them before the show, and I think I got through the third book before the show premiered.  They were absolute page turners!  But what the show has been able to do is to clarify A LOT of the storylines and characters that still leave new readers bewildered.

I had a friend who started on the show, but couldn't really get into the books due to their complexity and wordiness.  They weren't a big reader, sadly.

I'm completely fine with the direction the show is going, and I'm pretty sure most folks are too.  Sure, the die hard purists will always be angry, but the show is great to the majority of people who spend money.

Same here.  And if Arya kills the annoying girl/waif, what will happen then.  Will she escape and they have to chase her forever, with her always looking over her shoulder, or will the assassins creed guys just say ok, a death was paid for, and a death happened, and let her go?  Or will something else unexpected happen?

Fwiw, I found the scene with Sam and his Daddy somewhat interesting.  I don't think Sam will be sending R. Tarly any happy fathers day cards anytime soon.
