Kind of fitting that "The Pointy End" airs even as I am working on my season two script, "Blackwater." A much tougher assignment, by the way. All those damned boats...

!!The thing I thought of the other day, though... with certain characters being killed off in the next two shows, do you think Tyrion (mainly) and a few of the remaining cast will be able to carry season 2 on their backs with a seeming lack of "star" power?!!

Also, do you think the series itself will be able to command a season for books 3, 4, and 5?

I know that is far ahead of the current filming process, but it might be nice if they could be filming a couple seasons at the same time, in order to get them to TV sooner than a year apart... Yeah, I know you had to wait for the books for years and years between...

The books did just fine without them, as the storylines of others develop more and more.

People are really going to start to develop a fondness for this character.

He becomes one of my top 3 reasons to read ASoIaF even though like everyone else I absolutely hated him and keyed in on him being the bad guy in the first two books.

Martin does an excellent job of layering characters, secondary characters, and everyone else that has any relevance whatsoever to the massive glut of plot machinations that slowly develop over 4,000 pages of text.
