I would make the point that the books aren't for everyone. Some people need generic poo wrapped up in a shiny bow, like Stephen King, Dean Koontz or Terry Goodkind.

possibly... but it is just the equivalent of someone like Viggo Mortensen playing another role like Robin Hood or something... Anytime I see him cast as something midevil/fantasy in the future I'm going to associate it with Aragorn/Stryder...

Viggo Mortensen = Aragorn/Stryder in LOTR

Any time he plays a fantasy/midievil role in the future, it will channel those memories...
