The bit about the plays being numbered and not complex--didn't scare anyone? When he couldn't tell Gruden a play in terms of the language? Scary to me. Every time I see an interview or clip on him, I want to see something to change my mind because I think we are drafting this guy. I am not condemning him, but there is a HUGE link between Gruden-ese and Cam-ese.

The gun analagy was not his best metaphor, and it could reflect poorly on him. Not holding it against him, however, because there was not threat behind it. Figurative, but disturbingly so.

I look at that sit down with Gruden and think to myself how the hell Cam could of had a smooth meeting with our staff.

I tend to look at it differently.

I think it would be extremely difficult to sit down with Gruden during this interviews. Being openly questioned about your abilities and doubts people may have about you. Not only that, but this is also being filmed and broadcast to millions of people.

Granted, he wasnt superb, but I can sympathize with how difficult the interview could be. I would imagine him being a little more comfortable with the Panthers with the meeting being off camera.

Hurney does seem to be a very easy talkin' to kinda fella.

I'm in support of Cam but I got a worse vibe from that clip than the Mallett one.

Clip shows just how much ground he has to cover, but that's okay.

Didn't get a great feeling out of this clip, and still wish they'd show the white board and what not, but I liked it more than the previous one.

Also, damn it, lack of ESPNU is frustrating.

I will hold off judgement of him until I can see the entire show, however.

All the best QB's that I have ever seen, Brady, Manning, Rivers, Rodgers can call off plays immediatly, right off the cuff. They can even recall certain plays against certain teams that will show off their skillset when a certain portion is in question.

For instance:

Gruden: A lot of people are questioning your ability to move in the pocket/be accurate on the run.

Manning: Look at the 2nd drive last season against the Jags. We called X 22, Y flat, 66 go. Well I didn't see the blitzer until the last second coming from the right CB position, and didn't have time for an audible. So I pumped once to Reggie and tucked the ball and ran for a 4 yard gain instead of a sack. ETC...

This is what I am looking for if we are drafting a QB with the no. 1 overall pick. Hopefully I will see some of that in the full show from Cam.

I see the point you are making, but I doubt someone has asking him to spout off a random play, cause if he had been coached on how to answer that question, I am sure he would have memorized the name of a fancy sounding play.

He has never been asked to call plays out in a huddle, so I can understand him not knowing how to answer the question.

He made some really nice throws, big contrast to the combine - he's clearly been working hard.

It's clear that learning the complexity of NFL offenses will be the biggest challenge for him, I have no concerns about his physical ability to play QB at the NFL level.

Oh so just the biggest pre draft worry about him remains then. Marvelous.

I was warming up to Cam being the pick.. but after that video, I am completely turned off to the idea. Cam is not going to be able to pick up Chud's 900 play playbook any time soon, that's for sure. Simply put, Cam is too much of a project to be drafted #1 overall. He may be a very good player someday, but he will not be able to contribute in his first season.
