i hope we get him and teams do go into the zone against him. can you say "double trouble" all day long

You do understand you can still stop the run from a zone defense right?

It's not like everyone turns their backs and runs the other way.

Have you ever watched a football game? Do you know what a zone defense is? Do you know what the linebackers responsibilities are?

have you watched Dwill and Stew. If you have then know if the box aint stacked its trouble for the defense. So if the defense goes in zone I guess only Manning and bRADY can be successful. what are runningbacks for anyway:rolleyes:

What the *** are you even talking about?

You know you can put guys in the box but after the snap they don't have to stay there right?

They can take their "read step" and see that it's not a run and fall back into their zones.

Alignment has no bearing on the coverage you are running. In fact, most teams line up in a way to disguise their coverage.

From the looks of things, I'd say you and Cam are on equal footing when it comes to dissecting plays and reading defenses.

That's because he had 1 on 1 coverage and didn't have to read a zone

True Story

and teams blitz and lock up in man in the nfl too true story. zone blitzes are a major factor to some teams but he can be taught what to look for, cues, reads, progressions.

u sure know alot from the coaching standpoint and none from the player's. One hesitant step by the defense in the NFl usually=big play. I'd love to see a safety fast enough to sit back in the zone then come up after the snap and still be able to get back and help cover Smitty, he'd be putting the ball to sleep in the inzone by then. it was a good thought tho:p

and that read step (lbs read step is foward and dbs read step is backward)is all a nfl qb needs to find a window in whatever zone he may be facing.

oh no, if we listen to trd its a wrap as soon as the defense goes into zone coverage,lmao

I dont care what kind of diguises the defense does. If you dont bring up extra defenders in the box against us you will suffer. If you do and we have a quarterback that can make plays Smitty will make you suffer. I know what the Panthers capabilities are in those situations some dont

You realize that read step is the instant the ball is snapped and if it's a pass, those linebackers will be in their zones before the QB hit's their second step.

If it's a run, they will be filling or scraping before the RB has the ball

This is part of the "speed of the game" difference.

Have either of you played football above the high school level?

are you not a fan? are we not capable of handling a zone defense as long as we have QB that can make plays? Can double trouble not take over a game on the ground against this miracle defense?

The zone coverage has little to do with the running game success or failure.

You might argue pre snap alignment has an impact but again that's only pre snap and once the ball is snapped it's read and react. If they read pass, they will drop into their zones before our QB hit's their third step. If it's run, they will be filling, scraping, setting edges, etc before the RB has the ball.

It comes down to execution not what coverage scheme the defense is using.

You can stop the run from the zone or the blitz. Cam has proven to be less effective against even the most basic zones. You can image they will be throwing all kinds of things at him that he's never seen before while still being able to contain Double Trouble.

You're trying to simplify the game to a level of:

Zone = Running Success

Blitz = Passing success

and that isn't the case with the big boys.

I havent. I will say I've never seen this zone defense thats so unstoppable. I hope Rivera learns this stuff or maybe you should go talk to him, we will be 16-0:drool5:
