Yeah, but that isn't a good excuse. I'm sure JR is good an intimidating folks too. What happens when Smitty starts grilling him when he is struggling to get him the ball?

LOL Yeah I could see Smitty in the huddle being like:

"36? 36? No mutha f***** 36 is how many yards I had last season, now get the damn play!"

I liked his response as to why he didn't take a knee in the bowl game he's a competitive with an killer instinct. Home fans will love it opposing teams will hate him.

I rewatched the nc championship game last night and I guess I forgot the context of the situation surrounding the QB sneak and I really don't see why he has been questioned about it. If a coach sends in a play and you see on the field that you could take advantage of something you do it. I have no problem with it...that's what winners do.

I suppose that would be the main reason they would be thinking of trading him..but I would like to think he's a better leader on the field then Clausen was.

No huddle and couldn't recall one freaking play? This guy is a joke. No Cam, simplistic isn't always good. Nice cover for, 'I'm not ready'.

How hard is it to understand that Cam didn't call the plays in the huddle? If he's never done it, then why would you expect him to have a play call on the tip of his tongue? He still had to know what everybody's job was when he got 36 from the sidelines. He still had to know what to do against the coverage he saw and what his reads were.

Granted, Cam has a tough job ahead of him, regardless of where he goes, but that doesn't mean he can't do it.

Personally, I'm still not convinced that he will be the pick anyway.

Panters55, I tried giving you rep but couldn't.

Great post and something every Panthers fan should read. I'm not a fan of Newton but I'm also not a GM. If Hurney decides this guy is our future at QB and Newton comes in and eventually becomes a franshise QB then I will quickly become a fan of Newton.

At the end of the day, that is what is all boils down to. 32 players will be drafted on Thursday night. Out of those 32 I am a real fan of probably half of them. Come Friday morning, I will only be a fan of one of them.

The problem is his response. Everyone knows he didn't call the plays in the huddle, but he acted like he had a brain fart and didn't know what to say. I'm sure he was aware of that question before being asked and folks have trained him on what to say....and he still failed.

:yesnod: imo the team will see this and rally behind a guy like that because of how confident he is.

You're just pulling stuff out of the air. You have no idea if he knew about that question beforehand or if he was trained for it. How do you train somebody to make up a play call in 5 seconds anyway?

I didn't watch the full clip I have it recorded but did he even try to explain what "36" meant? What the receivers did? What his progressions were? What they were trying to accomplish with that play design or was it just "36" and we are more athletic than the defense so the play will work?

Mallet looked very impressive in his chalk talk so it would be good to compare

So you are saying Cam (or any of the people that are preparing him for the NFL) didn't know he would be asked about Auburn play calling vs NFL? If I am going on to be filmed on ESPN by Gruden, I'm going to do my due diligence on any type of question that may be asked about me......much like preparing for a job interview for us working folks.

36 = How many millions he wants guaranteed his first two years.

And Cam did fine when asked to diagram and discuss the plays they were looking at on the TV. He doesn't huddle up much at Auburn. The question caught him by surprise since they look to the sideline for the play. If you want eloquent huddle answers, I think Gruden interviews the Harvard QB on ESPN83 next week.

"Here we go, gentlemen...Red Storm on the three...Blue, Blue...the square root of nine...hut one, hut two...the Capital of Brazil...Yellow, White, Omaha...HUT!!"
