I find a little wad of kleenex or napkin takes the edge off without muffling sound quality.

Good idea... saw the Deftones at HOB in '06 and I wish I'd had some... was deaf for three days afterwards.

Definitely for some concerts. As someone who has had hearing loss I can tell you it sucks tremendously. Luckily, mine was repaired through surgery, but nerve damage can't be.

Do movies damage your eyes? No.

Yes wear earplugs. As an audio engineer, I rely on my ears for my livelihood. You can go to an audiologist and get custom molded earplugs with adjustable levels they can reduce the sound going into your ears for about $100 bucks - and they last the rest of your life. Small price to pay for keeping your hearing. And the sound quality isn't that bad - they mainly take the edge off.

I would say yes. Like Zod, I have hearing loss and it's getting worse all the time. I wear ear plugs cutting the lawn and all that stuff and if I hear anything too loud, even the car stereo, they'll start ringing like crazy.
