Saw something funny today

Walked out to grab the mail today and saw an interesting scene across the street, couple of doors down, about 3pm. School bus drops off a load of kids and they scatter around walking home. A couple linger behind, talking in someones front yard. These kids are probably 9 or 10, and one of the kids has his little sister with him, and she's about 5 or 6.

So soon after they're off the bus, an argument starts over something in the other boy's hand (the one without the sister). They start wrestling/duking it out in this persons' yard while the little girl plays balance beam on the curb, cars whizzing by (it's a pretty busy street).

A few seconds later, the mailman, now going down the other side of the road, sees the little girl on the side of the road and stops, and tells her to move off the curb. He gets out and tries to separate the two boys but ends up with a foot to the gut. He asks which one of them live at the house and they say neither, which just angers the mailman more. He gets in his truck and drives away.

I went back inside and a few minutes later peaked back inside and they were gone...so I don't know how it turned out. Mailman getting kicked was pretty funny because he looks a lot like santa clause.

they weren't thug kids by any means...i don't even know why they were fighting but i'm guessing it was because of the thing the one kid had in his hand and i couldn't see what it was.

stopping the little girl from walking on the curb and possibly falling out into the road was fine. i would have done that if he hadn't pulled up. but trying to stop a fight between two kids in the middle of someones front yard is pretty much asking for a kick to the somewhere. he's just lucky it was his cut and not the kibbles and bits

I know when I was growing up, our mailman was a part time referee for all the bus stop fights that we had. I did lots more fighting in Jr HS/ Middle school than I did in HS. Dont have to fight all the time after you win a few...

I would've stopped what I was doing to watch, its just entertaining...
