Why don't the Panthers just trade the #1 overall pick to Cincinnati for Carson Palmer and the #4 overall pick then use the #4 pick for Patrick Peterson.

I did not say that he was an above average NFL quarterback, I said he was an above average quarterback. That means all-around throughout the highschool, college, and NFL level, Newton would be considered an above average quarterback.

In high school Newton was an above average QB, in college Newton was a phenominal QB, so in the NFL he has the ability to be an above average to a phenominal QB. This is what is called a cieling. The point is, you don't have to be a franchise QB to win a SB; but you do have to have a above average QB to be succesful in the league and Newton is definitley an above average QB whether you want to admit it or not.

Please clarify if you didn't want "the league" to mean the NFL. Also clarify that if you weren't talking about Newton as above average in NFL terms, why mention that he is above average. It should be assumed by everyone here that any NFL QB was above average in college and high school so mentioning that about Cam seems pointless.
