I've already had my first "defensive dad" moment. During the ultrasound, before the tech had determined sex, I said to my wife "there's nothing between the legs!!" (cuz we wanted a girl) and my next thought was

"better stay that way"

All BS aside, daughters are wonderful. They tend to bond with their fathers more than the mother. She'll have a special place in your heart from the time that she is born to the time she leaves home for college [ :( :( ] and beyond. I wouldn't trade my baby girl for nothing in this world.

:yesnod:

I have a great relationship with all 4 of my girls. They know that no matter what, I will be there to protect them even if it is from themselves.

Unconditional love can be a double edged sword but sometimes it is worth it.

Also, girls will give you grey hairs when they get older,

I'm happy for you buddy.

I love having a daughter, and TBH, I find it a little....different, almost easier with my daughter vs. with my son.

With my boy I feel a bit of pressure to role model, teach him to be the right kind of man, etc.

With my daughter it is....protector and comforter stuff. Very sweet.

I love 'em both, it just seems...different somehow.

In a really cool way.
