Panthers to draft Cam Newton

How about leading a team that averaged 25 points per game in his three starts.

His average points production in his three starts is better than any game we had last year no matter who started.

Also 25 points per game is strong no matter who you compare him against

You're comparing the denver broncos to the Carolina panthers then. Not The Golden Calf of Bristol to Clausen. Points is the absolute worst stat you could point to for an individual players performance as everything influences points so evenly. You could never, ever prove what it was without going in circles. General ideas maybe but comparing the points scored of The Golden Calf of Bristol to clausen isn't great. Stats is already more for fun than serious disscussion anyway.

And I'm not discounting the theory that a player needs to play well in big games to prove himself after Moore. There needs to be pressure, real pressure.

And if Mr. Intagibles himself can't impress fox who cares more about leadership/heart than mechanics then that's a bit concerning. He does have the inexperience that hurts though.

I dunno... The Golden Calf of Bristol faced Oakland and Houston his first two starts. Not exactly tough defenses to score on. Like someone said, he'd just lob it to Lloyd (or Gaffney). He was awful in the SD game by the way. 16/36 with 2 picks. And one of the scores for Denver in that game was a kick return (lol Chargers special teams)... Clausen was constantly facing solid D's like Pittsburgh, Atlanta, St. Louis, New Orleans, Cleveland, Chicago, Tampa... almost all of of those teams were in the top half in points/yards allowed, some reaching into the top ten or five.

Let's not forget that The Golden Calf of Bristol was working with McDaniels who, while an awful head coach, is a great QB coach. Not sure if you could say that about Fox or Davidson.

P.S. Why are we talking about The Golden Calf of Bristol? I just skipped to the last page and figured it was some The Golden Calf of Bristol/Clausen argument and had to chime in since The Golden Calf of Bristol is really bad.

My original point was that The Golden Calf of Bristol was an effective runner in those 3 starts and didn't get killed. People had a hard time tackling him and I imagine they will with Newton as well.

Then someone said that the teams he played couldn't tackle. Then I reminded them that The Golden Calf of Bristol had 94 rushing yards and a rushing TD against Ron Rivera's defense.

Somehow that is where it dissolved into me apparently saying The Golden Calf of Bristol was the GOAT

teeray, you're insane. The Golden Calf of Bristol and Newton will not even accumulate more than 1000 rushing yards in their entire NFL careers so this whole running thing is dumb. They're quarterbacks not running backs, so let's get past this whole dual-threat invicibility thing ESPN has been spoonfeeding you and recognize that these 2 guys aren't going to be very good in the NFL at all once they can't run when everybody's covered.

I don't think anyone seriously thinks Cam is goign to get injured after one, two, or even three games.

But the fact that in the only two college football seasons hes played in (both at JUCO and D1), he ended up injured in the national championship game has to give you pause about him "running over" people.

Well in The Golden Calf of Bristol's three starts he averaged a little over 66 ypg. Stretch that across 16 games he would have had over 1,000.

Aaron Rodgers ran for nearly 400 yards. Lots of guys are effective runners. Guys have a lot of trouble tackling Big Ben and Freeman.

But hey just talk in broad generalities that have no basis in fact if you want to.

Tell me again about how you knew about Clausen. That is so interesting and gives you so much credibility.

No idea whether it's true or not, but half the known world is predicting that the Panthers pick Newton. Anybody could come on here, say they know it for sure and attribute it to whomever and have a decent shot at looking good come draft day. It's not that great a feat. Anyone can make an educated guess and claim "inside sources" told them.

Predict something no one else is saying, have that come true and then I'll be impressed.

Not trying to "look good" or "impress" anyone...just thought i'd come on here and share some significant news from what i consider to be a very reliable source, that is all.

At the end of the season EVERYBODY is injured. And I don't hope he runs 20 times a game either. Just that he can be effective.

If the Panthers really want a QB, they should trade for Palmer or get a really serviceable guy in free agency and then wait till next year when the true future QBs of the NFL are on the table. (Andrew Luck, Landry Jones, Matt Barkley)

Not happening...Every one of those ships have sailed

Pantherpop. Since in this thread you have said you thought Josh Freeman was faster than Cam Newton despite the fact that in one of his 40s at the combine he ran over 5.00 and that you are openly hoping we suck next year to try to get 3 QBs that may not even be in that draft bc they are all underclassmen, shows me you are probably too stupid to continue conversing with.

I will get back to debating guys worth my time like MHS, MAV, TRD, and Scot.

Get back to me when you step up your game a bit.
