More Peppers demands.

Dear Julius,

I am going to tag you and let you sit for this season. Every time I don't think you are playing up to your normal standards, I am going to fine you win or lose on appeal. Part of your new duties will be playing on special teams as well in all 4 phazes. Then next year capped or uncapped, I am going to franchise you again. See son that is how the NFL works. We are the ownership and the bosses, you are the employee/ property.

Now personally I would get with that agent of yours and expand that list a little if you EVER want to hope to play for another team in the next 3 years or so.

Thanks

Mr. Hurney (and yes son that is Mister Hurney to you)

I'm sure Hitler would have found great use for you.

Why is everybody making such a big deal out of this?

Put yourself in his situation, are you telling me you'd just go anywhere? No, of course not. In every buisness and job we look out for ourselves and our future first, not our fellow buisness we work for.

That's what Peppers is doing, looking out for himself. He isn's complaing, hasnt made any insults to our FO or team. He thanked everybody for everything.

This is proably one of the most polite request for trades Ive ever seen. What's the big deal, hows he acting like an ass?

Ummm not polite, he's hurt the team considerably with his demands today. I will only accept a trade to 4 teams, because there the only ones I'll accept a long term deal with..... Making everything public.... polite would've been behind the scenes and not making everything public, which in turn is hurting the team.

He's not making it public, the reporters are. He never went out to the media and said his demands, he told the FO and the reporters found out and reported it. How is that Peppers fault

His Agent went directly to ESPN to break the news. If that isn't public I don't know what is. If you don't remember his agent broke the news through ESPN. Made this public after the team had been acknowledged that peppers wanted out. Making it public after you've told the team is nonsense and pathetic.

Dude, he held a press conference. That's about as public as it gets.

During the interview and all others after he assured everybody that this was soley his descion ans spoke highly about the FO, players, coaches etc..

He could've easily could of blamed others or the system. Made a fit, or be all emotionaly mad, like we see so often in the NFL. He didn't insult anybody, he explained why.

Nah, you said he wasn't making it Public. Carey talking with ESPN to break the news and A press conference are doing just that though.

I'm posting this in all three of the peppers threads going right now. According to the NFL network Peppers turned down a 90 Million dollar deal from us last year.

Julius Peppers turned down $90 million from the Panthers. Should the Panthers follow the track of the Patriots, who franchised Matt Cassel with the hope of getting draft choices for him? Are we about to see financial Armageddon with Peppers, Albert Haynesworth and DeMarcus Ware? On the surface it doesn’t make sense for Peppers to turn it down but at a closer review, it does make sense if the Panthers were not willing to guarantee as much as $40 million. Here’s the math these guys are looking at: The franchise number for Peppers and Ware is around $14 million. Add 10 percent to that number for the next year’s franchising and you have $30 million in virtual guaranteed money in two years.

I was talking specifically about his demands, he never went public with those. And whats wrong with the press conference? I don't see how it would've made a significant differnce wether he did or didn't. It's not like he whined or made a big fuss.

As S. Smith agreed, Peppers is just doing what he thinks is best for him. Steve Smith along with most players wouldve done the same thing if they didn't feel like being here.

I have to disagree. Peppers is definetly entitled to leave if he wants and he definetly should have a say in where he goes. But do you realize how difficult he made things for us by saying he only wants to be on one of four teams??? He should keep his mouth shut and leave his desires of where to play with his agent and the inside of the panthers orginization. All teams that want him now will play hard-ball and we will mostlikely loose a pick or two because of his public comments.
