How can you call your truck a "Real Man's Truck"...

I've only driven 3 cars in my life, all Nissans, all very reliable, not one broke down on me ever (knock on wood for my current Pfinder).

I do, however, know how to drive manual. Seems a little tough to be able to do all the gear shifting in traffic and so on but I imagine that it just becomes 2nd nature and you're doing it without even realizing it

I don't even think about it since I've been doing it so long. When I drive work trucks I sometimes try to shift gears.

My daughter learned to drive on a MazdaSpeed6 with a 6 speed and a heavy clutch for the 4WD, now has a Jetta with a 5 speed. I made sure she learned out of the gate so she'd never be out of luck at some party somewhere with a drunk friend and their manual transmission.

Have an automatic now but it's an inherited vehicle.

That's what I learned on

i learned on an 84 accord. then dad got me an 81 civic. i ripped the transmission out of it. looking back...i don't think giving a 16 year old boy a 5 speed vehicle of any kind is a good idea. i did burnouts every where i went.

Most truck owners prefer automatic because the convenience simply outweighs the control benefits of a manual. 98% of us probably aren't using our trucks to make daily hauls or off road very often, so it really doesn't matter. Trucks, specifically the large double-cabs, have become the new SUV in many ways.
