it's about Ws and Ls. how ever you may put it, they won more games than this squad did last year. dpanther sorry i couldnt give you more to argue or dispute. but that fraud team beat the hell out of this team. the thread was about how you rebuild a team so obviously we were speaking of the panthers.

And why is it that any time we talk about other teams, some of you automatically bring up what we did or didn't do. That has zero revelance in the discussion. This is about what the Bucs did. What we did doesn't matter. What does matter is who you beat. You have to beat the teams in your division, and you have to be able to beat the good teams.

It's relevant because you basically said their 10 wins are fraudulent because their schedule is so soft....

My point is if the schedule was so soft and these teams were so easy to beat, then you would expect us to have more wins, seeing as how these teams are incapable of winning games... and we played the exact same team.

Atlanta, and NO played basically the same schedule and they all finished with 10+ wins...

In evaluating and item you keep a variable the same (Teams played over the season) and see how all teams did with those variables... And tampa did pretty good.

It could be argued that the NFC South was the best conference last year... therefore those teams records suffered because they played the toughest conference.

Take stats and add some perspective. They won 10 games. Stat. They won 1 game against a team with a winning record and that was the last game of the season. Perspective.

They don't look so great now

Im not in any way saying that they are the best team in the NFL. Or even elite for that matter. But I don't see how anyone can deny that they went from looking dismal (us) to looking like a respectable team in a very short amount of time considering they had to completely rebuild.

And despite what you say about Freeman our D was not the worst in the NFL and he looked good against us.

Some of you are simply being contrary. If you have an example of a better team rebuilding quickly in the modern football era please provide some insight?

The Falcons went QB, OL, RB and TE in their first year. 3 years later, and their defense is still a work in progress but, I don't think anyone would call their rebuilding anything less than a success.

The Bucs are still very much a work in progress across the board. About the only positions they are settled at are QB, DT and maybe WR. Still to early to judge their model.

I agree that the Falcons had a very good formula I just don't really have any hope of coming out of the gate as well as they did. I would love for it to happen but the QB prospects available to us are much more likely to have "down year" whether its from the bench or starting day one. I don't see Gabby/Cammy/Mullet/ getting us to the playoffs next year. Though I would love for that to be the case obviously.

I think we need to not try to build it using someone else's formula. We need to build with our own formula.

The defense is going to be pretty good this year. Even our DTs will play much better if we use who we have, under a more aggressive scheme. We will give up less than 21 points and will be in the top 10 in the league in takeaways and sacks.

The offense will tell the tale. If we stay healthy we will be better no matter what. The missing piece is a QB whether we get it through the draft, FA, or either Moore or Clausen improves. I hope we explore all avenues and find competition through all three avenues. I hope if there is a team we try and emulate it is either Baltimore or Pittsburgh. Both have similar aggressive defenses and decent offenses. That is what we need at this point. But in the end we have to use the talent we have to the best of our ability, not mimic someone else.

Not what I said. I said they didn't beat any good teams, which is required in the playoffs. They won 10 games can't take it away.

Which is required in the playoffs???? Not true!! You’re just full of talk... example:

Seattle best win of the season was over Chicago and got crushed by Tampa Bay and numerous other teams they had not call losing too.. But what did they do???? They won their first round game convincingly against the defending superbowl champs...

You are in it to win it. We've had this discussion before on here. Its about making it to the big game. Not winning in the first round.

and now, since ive answered the OP, im leaving it. No need to keep saying the same thing over and over again.
