Team rebuild formula ver. Who got it right?

you can be sick of it, but that team improved last year. yeah they might have beat the bottom feeders but guess who didnt.

exactly.

they have threats at receiver/TE.. a SOLID QB, that any team, especially ours, would take in a heart beat.. and is now a guy you compare rookies with, such as Newton.

If we can get a turn around like Tampa, I'll be happy. And, if we get a QB, we will have that turn around. Matter of fact, we should be a lot better.

We have talent, we just need someone to distribute the ball.. and 20% increase in coaching ability.

Im so sick about the love affair with Tampa. I mean they won 10 games, and they are improved, but how many good teams did they beat??

Wins: Us (twice), Browns, Bengals, Rams (1 point), Cardinals (3), 49ers, Redskins, Seahawks, Saints (final game).

Doesn't matter how soft your schedule may appear, you still have to go out a beat teams and that's no easy. 10 wins in the NFL is an accomplishment no matter the schedule. Teams like those can still get up a beat any team on any sunday... Hell we played the exact same schedule pretty much and only managed 2 wins against those same teams...

Still have to win...

No one is sitting here saying that Tampa was not a better team than us last year. But, one pretty good year does not mean they are a good team yet. Nor does it make Freeman a good QB yet.

In case anyone's memory is not so good...

via Wiki:

The Browns finished the 2007 season a surprising 10–6, barely missing the playoffs due to tie-breaker rules. Nevertheless, the record was the team's best since 1994. Six players earned Pro Bowl recognition, with Anderson starting for the AFC in place of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.[15] Coach Crennel agreed to a two-year contract extension.[16]

The Browns entered the 2008 season with high expectations, and many pundits predicted that the team would win the division.[17] The highlight of the season was an upset of the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants on Monday Night Football. However, inconsistent play and key injuries led to a disappointing 4–12 record.

Give the guys in Tampa another year before you start crowning them geniuses. :mad2:

there are no soft teams in the playoffs. and if you beat in the regular season, once you get in the playoffs you get bounced.

And why is it that any time we talk about other teams, some of you automatically bring up what we did or didn't do. That has zero revelance in the discussion. This is about what the Bucs did. What we did doesn't matter. What does matter is who you beat. You have to beat the teams in your division, and you have to be able to beat the good teams.

Two tired (but true) cliches: Game is won in the trenches. Defense wins championships.

Get a roster full of low glory positions in Superbowl form, then add the high glory players in until you win the championship. Rinse and repeat.

Oh, and do what Bill Bellichick does.....stockpile 2 round picks. That is where the true value of the draft is found.
