Game changes show Carolina's need for QB

To me the whole QB thing comes down to this:

1. Take Cam this year and wait 4 to 5 yrs for him to develop into a NFL type QB

or

2. Bring in a vet and wait until next yr for a QB when there could be at least 3 NFL type QB entering the draft and they would probably take 2 to 3 years to develop

I honestly dont think our record will be any different next year, with Cam or a Journeyman QB behind center. Either way I think we will be in range to take one of the top 3 QB's next year.

So I believe if Cam is the pick ... he is only the pick to fill the seats

The truth is you're correct. You are fighting to prove the fact that elite QBs are important, you are correct.

The fact that you think Newton/Gabbert will be an elite QB is yet to be seen.

Newton does not fit the new Air-Coryell offense. He is too much of a project to convert from a 1 read and run QB into a 4 or 5 read pocket passer they will need to run the 900 page playbook.

thats great, but for you to write off the top 3 qbs you must surely be a scout. yeah they arent bonafide hits but no one knows if they will be successful in the nfl.
