Mallett on Sports Science

He will be a really good QB if the rumors around him are false.

Tdog, Here is the thing with Mallett no one can provide proof he did the coke or whatever.

Jake Long of the dolphins has said all the BS at Michigan was BS, that he was cocky (what good QB isn't?) but was homesick and he drank a little much. OMFG!!! A freshman HS football player drinking too much? No way!!!!

As for the BS with drugs, some guy who is supposedly this great NFL insider that people talk to says he knows he did them. Really? Provide proof. 'Well he talked to people that know...'. Again...provide PROOF!

There are NO records of him ever entering rehab.

No one has come forward saying they sold him the poo.

No one has come forward saying they did drugs with him.

EVERYONE of his team mates that have been asked or have posted on their own said he was a team captain TWO years, studies film out the ass, works hard and was a damn good leader.

Again all I want in this day and age of super reporting is PROOF the kid did drugs. Bottom line, there is none. Someone started a rumor and some assclowns have ran with it.

Here is the real truth, he looks too much like Ryan Leaf. There it is in a nut shell. He is outspoken with his team mates and will rip them a new ass if they screw up. Some media jaggoffs have taken that to = Ryan Leaf going off on that reporter a few years back. Whomever pulls the trigger on this kid, gets the most NFL ready guy in the draft and will get the next Drew Bledsoe, not Ryan Leaf.

I agree with all of this. I have no idea whether they are true. I said in another post just bc no one has gone forward to the press doesn't mean that NFL teams don't know what is going on.

And I don't see him as a Ryan Leaf as much as I do a Jeff George

The rumors about excessive drinking from Mallett have a little more substance than the drugs, based on his arrest for public intoxication. May turn out to be nothing - lots of kids end up with that kinda thing in college - but that, combined with former teammates saying he drank too much at times, might cause some teams to pass on him.

Who cares about the rumors? Watch this kid under pressure...he pretty much falls apart under a strong pass rush. Haven't we had enough of that crap? I want a QB who has the ability to escape and make a play when he doesn't have a perfect pocket.

yes he lost the bowl game against ohio state when he throw that pick under pressure..we've had that happen way too much over the years to want a guy like that again..

    • I fell asleep on it last night, but UNC lost to Wake?
    • As we look at these prospects, I can never quite grasp which “edge” projects as a 4-3 end and which projects as a 3-4 olb. Is there even a distinction anymore? I always think of the smaller Von Millers and Micah Parsons as the 3-4 OLB types and I’m thinking someone like Peppers as the 4-3 end but then I guess Peppers played OLB in GB.  It also seems like the OLBs end up walking up to the line half of the time.  Anyone have any tips on discerning the difference, especially in Evero’s defense?
