Source: Peppers has a list of 4 teams he'd play for, 2 in the NFC South

Don't really care what he wants.

He'll take what he's given and like it, or he'll sitout and the Panthers can penalize him for doing it, or he can stay here a year, take the money he's not worth, keep his mouth shut and play.

If he wants out, he'll take what he's offered. If not, tough.

He didn't have to take any of this to the media. He could have done this behind closed doors with Richardson, Hurney and Fox.

The guy who never speaks, suddenly finds his voice.

You cannot make that guy do anything.

you are just being delusional. that happens in rawlee.

says you

wa it stupid when Plaxico walked? NY thought so

Was it stupid when Joey Porter walked? Miami thought so

what franchise does big cat idolize?

If a player wants out and has question marks surounding his talent/production ratio. The question ill be answered by Carolina not franchising him and showing the league that he is an overrated side of beef, nothing more.

there is a market for peppers.

it'd be stupid as hell to let him walk without gaining compensation when they could franchise and trade him. i have literally no idea why you think just letting him go to send a message is a good idea.

plaxico was allowed to go because new york offered him more money. Porter was allowed to walk because they thought he was past his prime, would cost too much, was a distraction, and wasn't as good as the younger, cheaper players underneath him. they were right on all counts.

Was going to respond with this...

just to prove a point? that's stupid. Get whatever you can for the guy and don't make it personal...

but looks like Fiz said it better. lol

That would be the most ridiculous thing I could picture to happen. It's one thing that he walks because we have to franchise Gross. It's another to just let him walk. But it's asinine to let him walk just to send a message....

WTF does that prove to anyone? That our franchise is fuging retarded? lol shiiiit.

I don't think it makes us look retarded. I think it makes us look like we are done with trying to coax Pep into his potential and really do not have the time to convince somebody else that they might be able to better thatn we have.

Is all this crazy talk stemming from greed or what. He is never gonna get you a first round pick. NEVER.

How blind are you guys? When all factors surrounding peps career are looked at. he is a risk for a long term deal.

good riddance

Why are you guys so mad at Peppers? He's never held out. He's never caused any problems in the locker room. Never punched out a teammate. Played when he was obviously sick. Never said anything to the media that cast an ill light on his coaches.

As a Rams fan let me tell you about a way another superstar handled things. His name was Eric Dickerson. Guy had the best offensive line in football in front of him. Had the best rookie season ever for a running back followed by what still is the NFL record in his second season. All of a sudden a couple of games into his third season he basically quit on the team. Said he wanted out because management was too cheap for a superstar like him. Scored a touchdown on a Monday Night game and pulled himself out of the game. So the Rams did the best they could...got four or five picks for him plus Greg Bell, who just so happened to lead the NFC in rushing the next year. Dickerson went to Indy, where he was unhappy two years later, then played on two or three more teams before ending his once sure-thing Hall of Fame career.

Peppers never pulled any BS like that. He waited for his opportunity and now he is going about it the way he should. It's not during a season. He let the very successful season play out and then stated his feelings at the beginning of the offseason. The Panthers have had several weeks to get their ducks in a row. It's not his fault they can't sign Gross.

Of course it would be nice if we got a first round draft pick or a starting Qb but that is dreaming. He is not worth that. Not anymore. He has no fire.

He’s worth whatever another team is willing to give to acquire him. We would be foolish not to figure out what that is.

You’re speaking out of emotion, talking about what he is worth to us.

That doesn’t matter one bit.

I am reminded of a quote from the movie, Billy Madison:

What you have just said, is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Blind? Are you fuging kidding? Even if we get a 5th round pick for him, it's more than we had...

How blind is it to just let the guy walk so we can show the world we know who Pep is and everyone else doesn't.

It's blind to let the guy walk when we can get something for him. It's blind because someone who wouldn't try to get everything they can has blind hate/pride/etc...

Put the pride aside, the "inside" knowledge that only you have, and let the team help itself by getting some damn draft picks. ;)
