Source: Peppers has a list of 4 teams he'd play for, 2 in the NFC South

If he honestly thinks the team would trade him to a division rival, he's dreaming.

More likely a negotiating tactic. If not... :nonod:

Florio's take that the Panthers should file immediate tampering charges against all four teams is interesting.

I would file against them immediately too. If at worst it scares them off wanting to sign him now his ***** list is shot to hell. Funny how that works.

it will be over soon, if we don't franchise him it won't be the end of the world... the cap room it would free up could get a big name like haynesworth - still a boost to the d-line

You really expect the Panthers to go after hanesworth? You got teams with WAY more cap room than we have that will be after him. A birdie told me that Buffalo is prepared to make him the highest paid Defensive player in the league. Thing is they are 7th in cap room so someone might outbid them!!!

no way we get Hanesworth.

I wouldn't care if they dealt him within the division, for extra compensation of course.

In other words if a division rival would give up near double what his worth is, then sure trade him.

2 first rounders and maybe another mid round pick, and send him wherever.

I don't see what the big deal is, everyone hates Peppers now, but yet they don't want to face him.

You can bad mouth him as long as you don't have to face him?

You should welcome to chance to show him up twice a year, especially those that say Gross owns him.

Per the teams Pep 'says' he will accept trades to, all that comes across as 'gamesmanship', maybe more his agent talking than anyone else. And he (they) have to be smart enough to know they won't make a deal with a division rival, unless the compensation was just too good to say no to.

Personally, I was thinking that a good fit for Pep may be the Redskins. Their owner has shown he'll pay out the wazoo for an impact player, they do have a first round pick available, as well as a third rounder. The 'Skins pass rush stunk last year. He might be a good fit indeed there. I'm sure if Pep does want out of Carolina so bad, he'll listen to ALL offers, from ALL teams, he'd be foolish to limit his choices to just the 4 teams mentioned. Key is if he wants out THAT BADLY! But, I guess we all shall see soon enough!

I don't have one problem trading him to a division rival. If the compensation is right, why not?

His work ethic has always been in question, ship him off to someone else, let them deal with him, while the panthers receive nice compensation.

I don't think the bucs nor the falcons would trade for him though

I have a list for him, I free up the cap room, franchise and sit him. He is a panther not only this year but next. Maybe by then he will learn to STFU. Oh and his ass now plays on all special teams downs as well.

he would have to sign the deal to play and I doubt he signs it. He would just straight sit for two years straight and pretty much have been payed by us 17 million and then another 20.4 million. So 37.4 million over two years for a player who is sitting and not doing anything at all. It's just a Stunt to get us not to put the tag on him. His list is probably actually longer then that. If it isn't longer then that, He's dumber then I thought he was.

Wonder if his agent is really his luvah.

But seriously, ever considered that he has other motives for leaving? Esp for a div rival? What if his mysterious illness was to resurface or some other serious issue? If he stays, then he's crippled the Panthers; if he is traded, he let's them off the hook and gets himself taken care of.

I'm not crazy about how he is handling this, but I think there is more to the story.
