years ago...fricken loved it. I have way too many sinus issues now to use it anymore so I stick to snorkelling. You'll enjoy it I bet.

I dived before in St Thomas and I'm going to dive again in a week in Turks and Caicos. But im not certified so I have to have a guide. Might as well get certified and do it my self you know?

Did it back in the mid 90's. Only went a few times because I got married not too long after that and my wife has zero interest in it. Then real life came fast with owning my own business and kids so doing it again is only a dream now. My plan is to get back into it when the kids get older and life slows down again.

My best dive was Cozumel. We went down to 75 feet and I could still make out the lettering and prop on the boat, the water was so clear. Amazing experience.

You should have taken it while in college. It was 3 credit hours and $50 for certification at UNC Charlotte.

$900 is ridiculous. Are you buying the equipment? The professor I had for scuba at Charlotte said it was foolish to buy your own gear. Only buy the mask, snorkle, and fins. Everything else is not only expensive, but it costs more to travel with if you're flying than it does to rent once you get to your destination.

Been diving for 10 years now. I have dove in just about every major island in the Caribbean. Also been diving all up and down the east coast, along with lakes and quarries. I own all of my own equipment, and when I married my wife, I had her take classes so that we could go diving on our honeymoon.

I agree wit your professor, only buy the mask, fins, and snorkle. It is an awesome sport, and not many people can say that they have been diving. It is really expensive, and you must keep yourself active in doing it at least once a year.

Open Water Adventures in Charlotte is a great dive shop. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the QC. Good luck! It is an awesome thing!
