guarantee the panthers WILL DRAFT Cam Newton

Recommended Posts

Yes.

Might be a good move on our part don't get me wrong, but if there was a huge build up with bands, beer, and excitement flowing through the air just to have Goodell to come to the microphone and say, "There has been a trade"

You will see maybe 25% who are the Haters clap and another 25% who are the Huggers upset bc we didn't go Cam Newton, and the other 50% will be sitting there wondering "how fugging long am I gonna have to sit here before they announce us selecting someone like Prince Amukamara?"

i completely agree...fans get so excited when it's their pick and they see goodell walking to the podium...for him to get their and then announce a trade it will suck the energy out of the event...you'll here more groans than cheers

you are the one kidding yourself if you think ANYBODY, let me reiterate...ANYBODY is going to trade up in this draft to the # 1 spot. if anything, the panthers might trade to get back into the first and mortgage their picks like they did in 2008 when they got stewart and otah, but i dont think that will happen.i do think they will get back into the 2nd round though

This is one thing that I have been immensely amused by through this whole "process," if you will. "Nobody is going to trade up for the #1!" But, "we have to take Newton because he is a once in a lifetime prospect!"

If you feel that Cam is going to be a franchise QB, then you must admit that teams will be willing to trade up for him.

Conversely, if you think think that Cam is garbage, you must accept the fact that trading down is not an option.

regardless of whether you or me or anybody else thinks that newton is ONCE IN A LIFETIME prospect or not nfl teams and gm's know that qb is the panthers biggest need, and they know that they are going to pick newton because talent wise he is the best qb in this draft.teams know that the panthers arent going to trade that # 1 pick

No he's not. Dual threat College QB's bust pretty much every time in the NFL.

I think Cam Newton is worth the pick at #1 and will be a franchise QB. Just not sure teams think he is worth two first round picks, which is what it is likely going to cost for a team to move up to get him.

Just heard on NFL network RR said Cam is worthy of the 1st overall pick and the Panthers will address their biggest need. Question is, what is RR and WalMarty's take on the "biggest" need?

the biggest need is w/o question QB...that's all they've talked about this off-season...it just remains to be seen how they plan on addressing it...we'll find out on the 28th

As much as I hate Vick, he was a bust for off the field crap. Even being an inaccurate passer, he still wrecked havoc with defenses and won a lot of games. I say after his vacation at the grey bar hotel, he is even better (actually stays in the pocket and makes reads). I still can't stand Vick, but on the field he is headache for defenses.

If Cam gets anywhere near his potential, he'll be better than Vick. Cam is a better passer, bigger, and has more raw ability.

If we draft him over AJ, I won't go into the sky is falling mode...lol.

I see what you are saying here but it is one thing to take a chance on a guy with a first rounder. It is quite another to take a chance on a guy with 2 first round picks and a second. Especially when there is no clear cut QB you could trade into buffalo's spot and get which ever guy we don't for much less cost.

More or less what teeray said.
