williams is saying what he's supposed to say...positive things about carolina and any possible suitors.

he's going to stay on good terms with everyone.

miami might be interested in him, but it makes no sense to get rid of one or both of their old and aging injury prone backs just to sign another aging injury prone back for even more money. miami (and others) will make offers, but it won't be a blockbuster deal.

been saying it for forever now...carolina will make a reasonable attempt to keep williams. if he isn't a panther next season, it's because he decided not to be.

He never said he "wanted", he said he was open to Miami being a suitor due to the great tropical climate but if he had to chose he would stay at carolina.

What this means is we pay him what he is worth and he stays, bit if we get cheap with him, he goes.

All he's doing is trying to do is up his pay. Good for him, he deserves it. It's not really going out on a limb saying you wouldn't mind living in south florida...

Eh, I can't deny some of the stuff I saw him say was disappointing. There's a big difference in the tone between:

“This is a place I’d like to live,” Williams said, in Miami for a triathlon to raise money for charity. “I hope I’m at the top of their list and they come after me.”

and

Williams, who stressed he’s also very open to staying with Carolina.

The first one implies preference, the second implies willingness. I can only hope these were baited comments and taken way outta context or something because it doesn't sound like Carolina is his first choice by this article. That would make me a very sad pantha.
