Could the CBA or lack of affect of who we pick?

My guess if by draft time if nothing is in place it may affect our draft pick if we are on the bubble piclking a qb.If it means there will be an abbreviated season I would be less likely to bring in a qb if I were already on the bubble.

Could it take an additional year to develope a qb? I think it is a real possibilty.

Hurney said on WNFZ that the CBA situation (potential of missing OTA's, mini-camp, training camp) would not affect our decision on taking a QB.

He may have said that ,but as we all know he is not going to tip his hat.

The development of a qb comes in the months leading to the season.

He told Mike Florio yesterday on PFT that 44% of QBs picked first overall since 1998 have become consistent starters in the NFL. He added that the situation had to be right for a young QB to come in and succeed.

Florio concluded that Hurney wants a QB in the draft.

Draft a QB now and it is possible that you get him on the field for 2 years (paying him for 4) before he needs a bigger contract--if he is not a part of the 56% of #1 draft picks at QB who fail.

he says it but you refuse to believe him...go figure

it don't freakin matter...there is no rush to get newton on the field b/c we aren't going to do anything next year anyway...they aren't gonna make the mistake with the next young QB that they made with clausen by putting them on the field before they are ready...i don't care if he's the number 1 pick or not
