How good is Darius?

How good is this guy and what is his ceiling? I hear from the "experts" he does not have the ceiling of Suh so where does he fit?I know teams double teamed him more as a junior but to be considered for the first or 2nd pick how much impact will he make in the NFL? I guess the real question is he good enough to be consistantly disruptive?

My guess is if the Panthers do not feel there is a qb worthy he will be the guy.

I wish we could get Darius for the Texans. I would take just about any star from Alabama just knowing they don't usually end up busts.

Warren Sapp wasn't the one debating those two QB's you mentioned. He was discussing the credibility of Dareus. I would take Sapp's word on a position he played successfully for many years over anyone elses. Sapp is a future HoF DT, and to think he doesn't know what to look for in a DT coming this April is just foolishness. You are not only ignorant, you're arogant as well. I can't take your posts seriously because you lack football intelligence and common sense.

Like I said, to make it more simple for your pea brain, Isiah Thomas coached and practiced with players, as well as draft them, and look what they did. That doesn't mean diddly poo. You are not only stupid, but your a joke. What if another HOF defensive tackle comes out and says Dareus is not talented as much as Sapp does? How's your argument work for you then? If you had any football intelligence or common sense, I'd consider debating you. You're playing checkers, while I'm playing chess.

If I was a CEO of a company for many years, I worked my way up through the ranks of my job, I had a ton of talent and was very good at what I did. I did it so long that I could do it in my sleep, and I know everything about my job. Then a youngman/woman my company thought about hiring had an incredible resume, was ranked very high coming out of college, and has all the intangibles of making a huge impact for my company. My company has the 1st shot to get him or pass, should I take him/her? I was once in that person's shoes, I know what I'm looking for, is it not fair to say that I can evaluate the potential talent of this candidate?

Same thing with a HoF DT, Sapp has played the game so long that he knows exactly what to look for when it comes to the potential of a DT. To think differently is idiotic. I'm guessing Peyton Manning has no idea how to evaluate a QB's talent ether huh? I'm guessing that Dareus being ranked the #1 BPA on the big board is just a mishap? You're an idiot, and your insults are so immature that if I was to guess your age it would have to be 14, no adult with at least an average IQ makes such retarted comments.

Grow up kid.

That's the pathetic comeback? I'm going to shred, again, in half the time you used for that childish comeback.

Michael Jordan, the best basketball player of all time, is now the President of the Bobcats, he knows a little something about basketball players don't you think? Look at his 2 draft picks, Kwami Brown and Adam Morrison. Shutup, your opinion is easily dismissed with that caveman logic.

Like I said and you refused to acknowledge, because you are not intelligent enough to debate, what if another HOF DT came out and said Dareus is not all that? How does that same logic work for your pea brain then? It probably would be too much to process and explode.

I'll continue to teach, but if you fail my next test I'm going to have to put you on the short bus and they'll take you to a place to get you common sense.

I don't watch basketball, I honestly don't care. However I see your point.

What if a HOF DT comes out and says something negative about Dareus? What if the world ended tomorrow? You're giving me a scenario. I'm not intelligent enough to debate, but your entire argument is flying just on a scenario. You're so damn retarded. What HOF DT has said something negative about Dareus? The very played who's ranked #1 overall on the Big Board.

Give me a reason the player YOU want is better than Dareus. Explain to me why Dareus shouldn't be in for #1 consideration? Rivera and Hurney both say he's being considered. So I guess Rivera is an idiot because Dareus is just so terrible? If Dareus was honestly as bad as you make him out to be, he wouldn't be in the top 5 for just about every respectable analyist (HOF experience or not).

Your opinion is like a ass hole, everyone has one. But to say Dareus is not talented or that he doesn't have the potential to be great is pure stupidity. He's one of the few blue chip players in this draft.

Yes Sapp's comments on Dareus is an OPINION, but I believe his opinion on Dareus is worth way more than mine and yours. Understand this, you are arguing about the credibility of one's opinion, you can't back poo up with fact, it's an opinion.

Suck it.

Oh great another who has the biggest dick debate. To disregard Sapp's opinion or hold it in high esteem are both idiotic. It is his opinion only. Come back in a few years after dareus has played a while then debate his ass again. To do it now is just speculation. Just like what Sapp is doing.

I agree. It's only an opinion. But one with credibility. To put down the opinion of a person who knows that position better than most is just stupid. My opinion isn't even close to being on the same credibility level as Sapp's or a respected analyist, I am only stating the fact that some arrogant people on this board think they are smarter than the people who have played the game and have scouted these players first hand.

Please, if you actually read, I've stated numerous times why Dareus isn't worthy of the 1st pick, he isn't even the best DT in the draft. R-E-A-D.

I never said Dareus was terrible, that goes back to your lack of reading. Now you're desperately making up stuff because you know you look dumb.

You say my entire arguement is based off of a scenario, which it's not. But, yours is based off of 1 workout that Sapp had with Dareus. You took Sapps opinion as gold, after 1 damn workout with him. Smh...

Next time I'm charging you, you won't get the free education.

Theres a credible guy, who gets paid, saying your great Dareus is going to go 9th, not even in the top 5.

So as you would say, suck it.:D

Hopefully they will grow out of that stage soon.

Maybe you should inform him.

He is good but he will never be dominate like Suh. He is more of a Buckner type player than a Kris Jenkins type player.

Agreed. Suh is a freak of nature, Dareus is more of a what you see is what you get type of player.

'Good', but not 'Dominant'

He's the type of player you would plug in, instead of build around.

I think Dareus can definitely be dominant a la Richard Seymour in that he can squat anywhere on the d-line and demand to be double-teamed or have special attention paid to him.

dareus can control matchups one-on-one through his initial burst and honestly outstanding leverage at the point of attack. i was really impressed with his ability to fight off blocks from tackles, guards and centers when i watched some alabama games from this past season.

he is a really good tackler (might be understating it) and sometimes it seems like his body is twice as dense as other people's bodies because of the way he can be stout against short-yardage running formations. his strength will get him a starting job from day one. he's a LOT quicker than i thought he was before watching a few games and paying attention to him. i can guarantee that rivera would love to turn him loose.

seriously, do not try to write him off as unimpressive by comparing him to players like dorsey or dwayne robertson. he's going to make a few pro-bowls and be an important part of a great defense or two. if his health holds up (always a factor with guys in the trenches) then he could absolutely be one of the 2 or 3 best players from this draft, even 5-7 years down the road.
