How good is Darius?

Delhommy has lost credibility with that post. He showed 30 seconds from a whole career from a highlight tape.

And he thinks that a pass that miraculously fell into his hands, and he out muscled a guy whose 100 pounds less then him is athleticism.

Yet he is labeled a "blue chip player" by people that actually GET PAID to study draft prospects. If Warren Sapp himself thinks he's worthy of the #1 pick, then obviously he's a talented DT. To say he's just a body is ignorant.

To go by those same people, who get paid, who said Jamarcuss Russell and Ryan Leaf were blue chippers, and that their word is the end all be all is just ignorant.

And if your taking Warren Sapps opinion as being credible then that's a joke in itself.

I didn't just call him a body. I said he's very good at his job, but he's not going to be dominant. He wasn't dominant in games, as Fairley was. That is just a fact.

No, I guess you'll just see when the season starts. He's a big body, that's it. If you watched Alabama games this year you would know his first step is not nearly as quick as the guys I mentioned, you don't see a burst or explosive step, just a huge body moving forward is all, he wastes a lot of time trying to get off blocks and he isn't a natural pass rusher.

if you watched alabama games last season, then you'd know he played damn near the entire season with a high ankle sprain.

I think he will be solid but not great. I watched three or four Alabama games last season and I didn't know his name before all the draft talk started on this message board.

He does his job well but I've seen nothing spectacular from him. His high work ethic can change that but it depends on the scheme he is in as much as anything.

Im guessing he stuffs the run well and gets 2-4 sacks a year. (someone else said the same in another thread)

BTW showing a highlight of him hitting a 170lb guy isn't very impressive.

Again he is a soild player. will eat up space, won't get you over 5 sacks a year. Yes he will allow other players to make plays but you won't even know he's there the majority of the time. This is crazy why is the league's worst offense trying to get better by adding a defensive tackle? If not newton green. maybe pp7 if he wants to return some kicks, only because he might help put some points on the board.

Warren Sapp wasn't the one debating those two QB's you mentioned. He was discussing the credibility of Dareus. I would take Sapp's word on a position he played successfully for many years over anyone elses. Sapp is a future HoF DT, and to think he doesn't know what to look for in a DT coming this April is just foolishness. You are not only ignorant, you're arogant as well. I can't take your posts seriously because you lack football intelligence and common sense.
