yes...because he was drafted 6th overall. We could just draft another DE in the 6th round like we did with Hardy and get better production.

I dout it. i don't remember moore or taylor setting foot in a real game this season. being drafted 6th overall shows potential. being drafted in the 6th is hoping you make the team. hardy fell do to injuries, can't promise some other talented de is going to take the same plung. Hardy the season before was projected in the 1st round.

a 3-4 DE (5 technique) is more comparable to a 4-3 DT (3-technique) than a DE. That is a pretty big difference.

However, it does bother me that he never got a sack and that he was a "workout warrior." People aren't saying sign a 5-year lease; they are saying that we should give him a test drive as the #4 DE.

i understand the difference. it's not like they were asking him to play corner.

good football players produce. he's been given years of opportunities at every position he might fit by one of the best and most creative defensive minds in the game. he never has produced.

Not to that exstent of asking him to play corner, but it is like asking a 6'7 small forward to go and play center against shaq and Dwight Howard. as good a player as the forward might be...its just not going to happen.

If he has potential it is buried deep down somewhere because he has as much drive as a Ford Pinto.

DeJaun Blair of the Spurs can do that because he has the drive to be a great athlete (he was also drafted in the second round).

and he how many championships has he won? how many points again does he average. How has he helped the spurs do anything? he may be average against decent teams but, against the elite big men he gets abused. not much he can do when they have a goo 5 inches on his and 30 more pounds.

James Harrison was cut 3 times and twice by the Steelers. You guys would think he's a nobody then. Now look at him, he's a beast.

There is no harm in signing him to the league minimum, seriously let's get real here.

Besides Johnson, the next best guy had 3 damn sacks more the Gholston had. Is that really saying much?

He plays pretty well and he was drafted in the 2nd round which is like being drafted in the 5th-7th round of the NFL Draft. On top of that he gives everything he has. Something Gholston does not do.

what part of ryan coaches a 3-4 don't you understand?

lol. ok. in a 4-3 the guy is a physical freak with all the potential in the world.

in a 3-4? 12 tackles in a season.

rex ryan tailors his scheme to his players strengths. he makes mediocre players look great. the scheme is not the problem.

if the FO wants to bring him in and sign him at the vet minimum... fine. I've watched the guy for 3 years. He's terrible and he has no motivation to get better.
