i know he was kind of out of position in ny, but the guy had 0 sacks and 12 tackles in 3 years, thats horrible. hes not just going to turn into reggie white if he makes the switch over to a 4-3, he'll be average at best and its just a waste of roster space.

he's worth a look in my book, this isnt like JaMarcus Russell or a QB bust. Gholston won't have to start and could just be used as a backup and see if he shows any of that potential that made him a high pick. just sign him to a short term deal.

ryan didnt use him in a 4-3. someguys just play better with there hand in the dirt. maybe he is everybit the trash he appears to be,what if he's not? Also at the price he'll be asking for after that disaster im sure he's worth a one year min.

As a top 10 draft pick and the salary he would command? No way. But to give him a change of scenery, a new position in a different scheme on a minimal contract? Why not? Some of you watch too much ESPN. The system and the position are important. We just got Jason Williams who was cut by the Cowboys. He played well for us in the 4-3 before getting hurt. Was Beason as good on the outside as he is in the middle? Same player, different alignment. What about TD going from SS to OLB? The Jets do not have another position that matches his skill set, but a 4-3 team does.
