What a disgraced sport. Nothing but a bunch of cheaters.

What sport isn't disgraced at this point? I don't see the point, but why does everyone constantly make baseball the villain of professional sports? PEDs don't exist in other sports? There aren't athletes in the NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, PGA, NCAA that are douchebags and cheat? I don't get it.

Everyone jump on board the national media hate baseball bandwagon.

The difference is, nobody gives a damn about the NFL and steroid use.

In fact, if it were not for the massive PR hit, I'd guess most ardent NFL fans would be pretty ok with steroid use, as long as it makes their guys supermen.

Baseball has always been about regular sized dudes playing a game that hasn't changed much, and with that the ability to transcend eras to facilitate comparisons.

Record keeping and the generational banter has always been a fabric of the baseball tapestry.

Football, OTOH, has always been about getting the biggest, fastest, freakiest guys to destroy other guys. Comparisons are ridiculous through the ages. And no one really cares.

Thus, baseball fans get undies in wad over PEDs and the total lack of oversight in the 80s, 90s, and early 00s.

That's the best I can do in explaining the difference in baseball vs football fan culture.

Yes, but only if you can prove to me that he was clean which I don't think he was.

*Edit* Nothing against Jeter, I am conviced that the only 2 players not to be on PEDs of some sort were Eddie Gaedel and David Eckstein.

what about albert the golden child pujols??

Also, Bud Selig should be only allowed into the HOF after Bonds, McGuire, Manny, etc. make it in. Hard to blame the players since there was no testing for it until 2004 (I think).

One a side note....I would argue amphetamines would help a player more in baseball than steroids and if that is cheating then you better throw out a bunch of HOFers including the likes of Mike Schmidt and even Willie Mays.
