Yas: PP7 won't be the pick

that's complete speculation by yasinkas...peterson said he wants to do punts and not KO's...they wouldn't want him doing KO's anyway with what they would invest in him at number 1...peterson is still very much in play for the panthers

punt returning is just as dangerous....as the Tampa Bay PR guy two season ago.

Peterson just doesn't make sense in Carolina. Not with how big of an impact a QB or DT could have in comparison. On top of that, CB is down the list in regards to need.

QB, DT, and even DE, RG can all be argued as bigger needs than CB. Otah's unpredictablity could add to those needs as he probably will tear something else soon.

Name the starters at those positions.....then name the starters at CB.

They can be argued but that doesn't mean its even close to reality

if marshall's gone we have munnerlyn, mcclain and stanford

got any ideas on how to address this? remember after the second round theres not gonna be poo at CB

So you just cut Chris Gamble? Even if Marshall leaves.....Gamble and Captain is a stronger duo than where we currently stand at...

QB, DT, DE, RG, and RT (if Otah can't play).

QBs - bigger need than CB

DTs- bigger need than CB

so at BEST CB would be the 3rd biggest need.

Now DEs, we have Johnson who has NO CONTRACT and then no starting DE on the other side. Brown is a situational guy at best. Now our young rookie last year is now being vastly overrated. He played a fraction of downs and it is too optimist to pencil him in as a starting caliber DE. He also has a history of injury problems.

if we our gonna assume Marshall goes you got to legimately consider Johnson at DE could go, Otah might not ever be healthy, etc. The entire right side of the OL would consist of what?

Let's hear your arguement on how......

Gamble, Captain, Marshall......is a weaker position than the above.....you can remove Marshall as well and what is left still isn't as pathetic as the above pending the same thought process is used at other positions.

Will Newton be able to return kicks?

Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse. -William Wallace

Just to clear up a couple of things...

PP said on NFL Network that he did not want to do KO returns, but would do punt returns in key game situations. This raised a major red flag to me when I heard it.

Then last night, Hurney and the ST coordinator were talking about how PP was attractive for his KO return duty.

Either PP changed his mind, or the Panthers never even considered him enough to care about his statement.

I didn't cut gamble you always have two starters at CB

the dude has made every indication that he doesn't wanna play here and the FO doesn't necessarily want him here either. can you say the same about CJ or anyone else you named? and DT is probably the deepest position in this draft. it can be easily remedied why is that so f*cking hard for you to grasp?

basically you're cool with munnerlyn and gamble sitting across from ryan/brees/freeman

ok dude

you said

that omits Gamble. If Marshall goes we have Gamble, Captain (who was solid at the end of last year when Gamble went to the bench), McClain, Stanford. Captain lacks ideal size but the kid is definaetly solid. Gamble and Captain are probably just as good as both tandems when we played in both our NFCCGs. Pass rush > CBs.

QB is easily the biggest need along with DT.

We have zero starting caliber DTs in Carolina. You can't just pick one up in the 3rd or 4th round and think your problem is solved b/c it is a "deep draft".

I am a lot cooler with Gamble/Captain if it came down to it.....then our existing QB, DTs......and pending how things go our entire right side of the OL and (2nd)DE position. If Charles Johnson leaves we wouldn't have a single person on the entire defensive line that was legit.......who plays corner would be irrelevent with that DL.
