In essence, he said picking a consistent starting QB in the first round and even with the first pick in the draft was a less-than-50% proposition. Why would he quote these statistics if he was considering drafting a high risk/high reward QB?

Because it's part of the process? Don't think he's afraid of risk or we wouldn't have Armanti Edwards..Should we never draft a QB in the first? I would think the % of getting a consistent starter out of the first round is considerably lower. Again you don't go about drafting anybody without weighing both sides of the argument. I wouldnt' read into it as he doesn't want QB at number 1...but we all see what we want to see.

What if the coaches and scouts want him? He can always say it was the coaches call, which in that case would be.

People aren't trading their Phillip Rivers or Eli Mannings. Kolb is not even in that class of QB nor are any available free agents. Luck has one more year of eligibility if we have the #1 pick next year and doesn't want to be a Panther.

We have to compete in the NFC South you need a QB. 3rd and 3yds to go, I'd much rather have CN than JC or MM.
