i dont think there is any DE worth takeing in the first round.

theres talk about pat white,if he runs a 4.4 they want him to be a WR. but he might refuse to work with the WR.

and cullen harper needs to be something amazing becuase he killed his draft stock

if jared cook TE from south carolina runs a 4.3 look for him to jump his stock into the first round

overall the postions we need are weak this year so i hope we take a DT then a DE.maybe we take pat white becuae rem we offered to keep basz if he worked as a WR to play special teams.maybe we take white as a hybrid WR/QB and in the future who knows maybe he will get a shot.

I'm keeping an eye on Peria Jerry, Brandon Pettigrew, Max Unger, and Hakeem Nicks. I think Hakeem Nicks will fall to mid 2nd round unless he has an amazing Combine (I just see more teams getting RBs or Linemen over late 1st round WRs with this years FAs).

Anyway, those are the kids I hope to see playing for the Panthers this year.

(How happy would Stewart be if we got Unger.)

I do like Micheal Johnson, (Georgia Tech) at DE in the bottom of the 1st round. He has the motor and his frame is conducive to putting on the muscle he will need in the pros...

His highlight video was pretty nice.

Could have a Johnson and Johnson set of bookends in the future.

I like Johnson as well. He is a big guy. At 6'7 and like 255 he could add some standard pro muscle and be very similar to Julius. Im interested to see what kind of 40 he runs at the combine. (He runs a 4.67 currently. Low is a 4.59)

And boy was I surprised to see Chase Holbrook of NMSU in the QB area. His footwork really is just difficult to watch. I wonder if he could possibly get drafted. From what I saw of him, he is essentially a less mechanically sound Graham Harrel.

Michael Johnson, I agree. If he's available we should grab him.

If we get into the mid first we should get Vontae Davis. Lucas is going to be a cap casualty. We need a good 2nd string corner. He's Vernon's brother, and that family breeds athletes. Vontae hits like a freight train. I'd love to get him.

His measureables read like Peppers.

I have seen a couple places question his motor/desire to play.

    • i think i go in the opposite direction of most. my ideal retirement is living in some old downtown area in a flat above some shop or something.  life out in the country was just something i got real tired of. My kids actually miss some of living out there, which i understand. that was where they grew up for the most part. 40 acres with a 2.5 acre pond. it was beautiful, but also way too much (and too expensive) for me to keep up with.
    • FLASHBACK: I remember back when ESPN was just starting--he was their anchor.  They used to show stuff like Rodeo and field hockey--I remember laughing when he went to a commercial mocking a cycling competition in Utah (or something similar--I made that up) and I laughed.  I told my dad, "We may have us a new anchor when we get back from commercial."  When they came back from commercial, Berman was looking very serious and he said, "Any comments by me do not reflect the views of ESPN....The men and women who cycle are dedicated athletes and we are honored to shine light on their sport." (Paraphrasing).  Dad laughed hysterically. My first memory of him--and that was like 1980.
    • Might not have a team without them. Although that probably applies to the Panthers, too.
