It's amazing how fast people can derail a somewhat interesting topic. Truth be told, Carolina has a lot of positions that I do not feel comfertable with. But, I guess that happens after a 2 win season. Right now, every position is suspect, but how much of that is due to the coaching situation last year.

I try to remember, we are very very young. There are probably players who are really going to suprise us over the next few seasons.

Looking at our roster, If we can resign key players, I am happy with the RB situation and some of our talent at LB. The DE's we have show a great deal of promise.

Every other position could either use a quality starter to step up, or is lacking in a quality backup.

The DT tackle position.... well, the guys we have starting wouldn't be considered quality back-ups anywhere else in the league.

I am just not impressed with any of them. That position needs an overhaul!! It has always been one of carolina's strengths. Now our most glaring weakness. I am suprised our defense was as good as it was last year. Imagine how good we could be with just one quality DT!

People will call me crazy for saying this but I do feel as if the TE position should be address in the draft at some point.

I know that we just signed Shockey but considering his age and how often he gets injured, I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a young, playmaking TE like a Lance Kendricks or Luke Stocker in the 3rd or 4th round to eventually replace Shockey

Outside of that, I would go out on a limb and say that CB could be a need. Once a CBA comes in place, there is a great chance Marshall may not return so it is essential to have a back-up plan in place (which is why trading down and get a playmaker like Peterson is a good idea.) Captain Munnerlyn played well but he isn't a #2 corner but more of a nickel back.

Also, offensive line needs to be address as well. Even if we do draft a QB 1st overall, there is no way Cam or Blaine will survive with the line we have last year (which is why I feel we can't blame Jimmy for everything) which is why a back-up RT and a solid starting RG is needed.

Finally, hopefully DeAngelo Williams will be re-signed as it will give us that two-headed monster tandem again. Although coach Rivera said that the passing game will be an integral part of the offense, they still want a balanced offense. If Williams does not return, I feel comfortable enough with Stewart and Goodson to be a good tandem but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a third guy in there.

lol you're obviously not a smoker. I'm a recent quitter after 11 years (cigarettes are $15 or more a pack out here in Australia: can't afford it, especially when the best they got is Kools anyway, couldn't find Newports anywhere!) and going 3 hours is like going an eternity. They should fix it at BoA by just giving hand stamps or something like at a club so you can step out and smoke and come back in or something. Or at least make a smoking lounge like at an airport or something. People will continue to find some way to sneak a smoke if they're going to ban smoking all over the stadium. Come on JR it's Tobacco Country! You can't ban smoking in NC!!

I think they had lounges in the club section....then they banned it in the stadium...can't do it anymore. If you can't handle it, don't come to the games. Goes along with the law passed 1/1/2010 of banning smoking inside all bars and restaurants in NC.

Oh, and I was a smoker for 6 years until I quit this past Winter.
