Pilot license

Dont trust those schools. No one can guarentee you a job.

Arsen if you are interested do a introductory flight first. Basically all you need to do is go to the airport or call first the Flight school at your closes airport. Cost should be around $50. You will go up for about 15-20 and handle the controls. Gives you a good idea if you really want to do it. After that you will need to sign up with either a school or flight instructor. Either way is fine the big thing is to build you hours after you get licensed if you want to make it a career. Which honestly I would advice against. Sure the pilots that fly the bigger planes make money but starting out you will be lucky to make $20,000 a year. Plus you will be flying alot and overnighting in crappy hotels. But with all that said if you truley love doing it it is a blast and you can see some cool places.

No way I making it a career. I watched 60 minutes on pilots and its crazy what they have to go through... I always wanted to fly a plane. I'm single, have a good job so might as well do it.

Defiantly do it then you wont be disappointed. Take the introductory flight and just go through a flight school at a airprort near your. Try not to go to the busy airports as you waste alot of time taxiing.

Is that a joke or something? If you have 56 grand to spend on lessons you already have a great job.

Not necessarily....it's similar to going to college for most people. People take out loans and learn to fly. I have a buddy of mine that did that and was in debt well over $100K by the time he had enough hours for a commercial license.

Now there are people that take lessons just as a hobby that are obviously rich.

I got mine in 2006 with an independent instructor, took my checkride at 45 hours. All expenses included I'd say headset, etc with plane rental and instructor fees it was near $10k all together.

YMMV because depending on weather and other things out of your control most people don't take their checkrides at 40 hours for various reasons.

Those that say it's a lot cheaper than that either did their training in the 1970s or don't know what the fug they're talking about.
