Report: Richardson “not sold” on Cam Newton, but will likely defer decision

And sorry, some here may not want to accept it, but Newton is not in Luck's class. Nobody in this draft is.

Would we not have done that even if Luck came out??

Why does a CBS report saying someone familiar with our draft plans says we are leaning toward Newton just speculation but unnamed sources saying Luck is a slam dunk.

Why does Moore and Clausen suddenly deserve a second chance?? But didn't in January?

I don't care who is in what class. I just laugh at the failed logic of some of the arguments and how they have changed so much in 3 months.

No, we wouldn't have. We'd have had a clear cut number one and no media speculation would have been happening.

Luck being drafted wouldn't have meant we cut everyone else. Nor would it automatically have meant Luck starting next season.

I was wondering that too.

Plus you don't know who is in whoMs class until they actually play in the NFL. Cam could be great and Luck an epic flop.

Remember how people were upset when Cam mentioned he was a entertainer and icon. All the Haters said "that is putting the cart before the horse. Wait until you have taken an NFL snap before you can say that." But to be clear we are willing to say Luck is a different class than Cam Newton before he takes an NFL snap.

That is agreeable only with Luck right. Truth is you have no fugging clue who is on what class until they actually play a NFL game.

I posted then that I didn't want Luck, either... and that I thought Clausen and Moore deserved a better shot...

But you guys said earlier that Hurney always went through the process. Another thing that has changed I suppose.

Thing is we have a chance at a high potential QB with talent THIS year. Our best chance of drafting Luck was killed when he returned to school move on. Stop Praying for a lockout and for us to suck enough next year to get the number 1 pick again it's disgusting smh.

Nobody knows if Luck or Cam will be who they could potentially be as players at the nexts level. Hell no one knows if Luck has a Locker like season nexts year.

"The process" would have been a whole lot simpler with Luck in the equation.

How do you know?? Are you speculating. I thought he would never let people know what he was going to do? Hurney didn't operate that way. I have heard that several times.

Just another thing that has changed I suppose.

I think, especially in NFC South, we will find ourselves picking top 12 and have a chance at one of the 3 franchise QB's coming out, probably Jones, maybe Barkley.

all 3 are more a prototype QB than Newton is.

if we draft Green, we might could trade Smith for a solid Defensive Tackle

This makes good sense. I am glad to see Jerry R. is beginning

to realize the negative ramifications drafting Newton will have . I am

also glad someone around here is thinking with their head and not their

heart. Newton will be useless for 2 to 3 years and will not help us.
