I hope the EMPLOYEES get smacked down and finally understand they are exactly that, employees. You aren't a partner when you don't have to pay any of the bills and you draw a paycheck from someone.

I kinda have to laugh when I heard some ex-players on ESPN saying that they are "partners" blah blah. Have they never worked anywhere else before? Every company I have ever worked for has been like "Were partners in growing this company, we couldn't grow and do as well as we are without you guys....blah blah blah"

But do I go asking for financial documents demanding where the CEO is spending the money etc etc?

When will Nelson issue a ruling?

It is highly unlikely she will rule from the bench Wednesday, likely issuing her decision later. She could side with the players and issue the injunction, she could side with the owners and deny one, or she could decide to wait until the National Labor Relations Board rules on an unfair labor practice charge against the now-dissolved players' union. That charge, filed by the league, alleges the players failed to negotiate in good faith. "If the players lose it, and the judge says that yes the lockout can continue, then it won't be long before these multimillion-dollar players begin to feel a very significant impact that they are not being paid for each game that they miss," Larson said. "If that starts to happen, then ... I think there's a rush to settlement." Still, any decision Nelson makes can be appealed by either side.

Not true, everyone is expecting that if the players get the injunction that the owners will go back to the rules that were in place in 2010. But here's the thing, those rules would in fact give merit to the two law suites filed against the NFL.

IMO, if the players get the injunction the NFL will say fine we will do it your way. No salary cap, no draft, no restrictions, no vet min, no min, no benefits outside of what is mandated by law. And with the NFLPA decertified, there wouldn't be a thing the players could do.

But the thing is, this injuction by Brady isn't going to happen. The injuction being asked for by the Eller lawsuite that asserts that the retired players benefits will be effected by a work stopage has a real chance of being granted. However, the player's lawyers will probably have to try and stop that from happening. If retired players are able to stop the owner's from locking out, that could become presidence for the retired players to in the future sue the NFLPA from striking and forcing them back to work.

In the end, at best I see the Judge delaying her decision until the end of July, basicly saying to the players come back when the time truely is dire of you losing games. At worst (or best however you view it) the Judge will dismiss the injunction all together. Either way, football isn't any closer to coming back than it was yesturday. Appeals will be filed ect. This will take longer than a couple of hours in the court room no matter what the decission is and I don't expect the "offseason" to begin until June at the earliest, and that even if the players win.

Like Florio said on PFT, the best decision the judge could make would be to order the players and owners to return to negotiations and set a 2 week deadline on it, with a warning that if they have not worked something out by the deadline the judge will impose a deal on them.

What is best for short term is not always best for long term. I prefer the lockout. Let both sides lose some money. Let them both realize they need to concede a little bit and can't have it all their way. Knock them both down a few notches by hitting their wallet. Then you will see a deal made that is best for the League (players and owners) for the present and the future.

The players also need to be smacked for even thinking of trying to get rid of the NFL Draft as well as salary cap. Lose those two things and Carolina will never have the ability to compete with the Cowpokes and Deadskins.

If the lockout is blocked then we would revert to the 2010 rules regarding contracts.

If so, all those restricted free agent tenders placed on players in late Feb. will stand. And, if I remember correctly, we never heard what most of those were except D-Will (1st & 3rd) and mabe CJ (1st only).

Matt Moore got either the 2nd round tender or the lowest (no draft pick compensation since he was undrafted).

Might be time for Gantt and other media folks to contact agents and find out what those tenders are because Hurney aint talking.
