Phil Mickelson advises Panthers to draft Defense

Meh. the guy is entitled to his opinion and he happens to be right.

All you guys taken in by this Newton hype don't know football

or the Panthers. You build with a rock solid DEFENSE not with a

one trick pony QB who is not NFL ready for 2 -3 more years.

haha, wtf at this thread. We should all seriously take into consideration the vast amount of knowledge Phil has of Football.

Phil wagers more on sports in 1 week than most of us make in a year. You're right, he has "vast..knowledge".

Not one person commented on my Phil Mickelson/Michael Jordan connection...You guys need to be more well rounded when it comes to sports knowledge

And no, it's not because he owns whatever pooty basketball team plays in your city

The Amy triangle?

Any other random celebrity, sports or otherwise, I'd dismiss summarily, but Phil is reputedly a pretty good NFL prognosticator (wish I had more references on hand but I'm positive I've read it from credible sources - I see you realdeal and counting you as a credible source).

So I'm dismissing with a footnote that if we draft defense, we'd better have a fuging FA plan for QB, or it won't matter.

"You remember back when Phil Mickelson "couldn't win the big one"? In 2001, three years before he donned the Green Jacket, Lefty won the Big One. Twice.

Before the 2000-01 season, Mickelson reportedly dropped $20,000 on the Baltimore Ravens to win the Super Bowl at 28-to-1 odds. Sure enough, behind a defense loaded with murderous madmen, Baltimore destroyed the Giants 34-7. Lefty cashed in that one for $560,000.

But just a few months later Mickelson dropped another $20,000 on Arizona to win the World Series at 38-to-1 odds. Sure enough, behind the arms of Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson, Arizona won a dramatic seven-game series over the New York Yankees. Lefty took that to the bank for another $760,000."

... and:

"Apparently Phil walked in on Amy and Michael Jordan doing the nasty. It should be remembered that Amy was a Pheonix Suns cheerleader, and considered quite the money hunter. We all know MJ pretty much does whatever he wants..."
