Well who is having as bad of a year as me?

So, I am trying to plan a wedding, and then I get laid off in January, from my job that gave me a raise less than a month before. Last month 2 days before I leave to go to Daytona Bike Week, the transmission goes out in my 2006 Jeep Commander, that has less than 70,000 miles on it. $1300 down the sh*tter. I had to really do some digging to come up with that money. Now 3 weeks later the transmission goes out in my 2007 Harley Davidson, that has less than 20,000 miles on it. It will cost about $1600 to fix it, and I am completely tapped out. Get this though. The only thing wrong is a spring inside the transmission is broken. Now that spring cost about $25 to $30. They have to take the whole f'n motor apart to get to the transmission, pull it out, take it apart, replace the spring, and put it all back together. $1500 labor! No job, I still owe about $2000 on this wedding. What is next?

Taking paypal donations. Please give generously.

since you don't have a job, maybe you should try your hand at fixing transmissions.

I personally am not a big fan, but riding a Harley certainly has a status that goes along with it, some may interpret that as good or bad!

dragn, I'm a little disappointed that the president of a bike club, without a job, needs to get this work done by someone else!!! Do your members know this, I won't tell!

Yeah, I know. lol I can tinker, but nothing major. Most of my members are young and new to riding. The ones that know about bikes no nothing about V Rods. They are kind of in a league of their own. Not a sports bike, and not a Harley. Everything is very unique. Only the dealers seem to be willing to touch them. The bike was actually designed by Porsche
