Japan jokes

the problem is that people seem to think that making a joke about a tragedy is avant garde and as such, can really be anything. JOKES NEED TO BE FUNNY. especially offensive ones. i don't know when it happened that offensive replaced funny.

You thought Gilbert's joke was offensive and not funny?

i wasn't offended by it, I could certainly see how others could be offended by it.

i don't think gilbert gotfreid has ever been funny in his entire life.

I was surprised to find out it was his joke. All I've ever seen is that annoying character he does. I had a friend who was a stand up comedian. He said you wouldn't believe how hard it is to do a character like that. Bobcat Goldthwait is another one. We watched a guy try out a new character one night and it bombed. He had to stay with it, though.

Depends on who you are and where you are from.

Try a 9/11 joke in NY, or anywhere in this country. Doubt you'd get anything but dirty looks and perhaps even an asskicking.

Maybe that same joke plays ok in Saudia Arabia.

In Japan, I'm not sure anybody wants to hear a tsunami joke, particularily one about a dead girlfriend or wife.

So yeah, perhaps it is tragedy plus time, but I might throw distance in the equation as well.

Am I offended...nah. But I'm not really in to jokes about human suffering or tragedy that is real.

A good Silence of the Lambs joke works for me, cuz it is fake.

Just my 2 cents.

Cops will blow you away with their sick jokes. Im sure paramedics are the same way.

did you hear about the young paramedic who arrived on the scene of a horrific crash with his crew. His senior paramedic told him to write down everything he sees in detail. So he starts at the first vehicle where he notices the driver has been decapitated and ejected from the car so he begins...

red color Mustang, approximately 2008 model. Single occupant dead on arrival. Driver has been ejected through the windshield. Head has been totally removed from body and is laying in the bulle....boull....bula....punt, head is in the ditch.
