Which QB would you compare Cam Newton to?

hows that a joke? similar stature, both great arms, lacking accuracy. Just a coincidence they both went to Auburn. Cam can run better, thats about it.

Some thought Campbell was the most accurate QB in that class coming out.

Actually....newton reminds me of Alex Smith

One year wonder, great rushing stats, great passing stats due to talent around him/system.

Smith:

2952 yards, 32 tds, 4 ints, 67.5 PCT

Newton:

2854 yards, 30 tds, 7 ints, 66.1 PCT

Both had enormous rushing yards and tds, and both were supposed to "revolutionize" the game with running ability, and great passing ability.

I see about the same result if we draft Newton number one overall...

"With the lack of a bona fide potential superstar quarterback in the 2005 NFL Draft, Smith's stock has risen higher than it probably would have in most years. Some draft boards have him as the No. 1 selection overall, but I think he'll be the second QB off the board behind California's Aaron Rogers."

Yeaaaah.

And the Niners haven't recovered yet. But somehow, we would be okay if we have a bust at #1. I guess we are in that much better shape than most teams?
