Potential for scrambling ability reminds me of Vince Young, but he seems a more intelligent guy who has hopefully learned from his earlier mistakes and is more mature from it... and on top of that, he's got a bit better mechanics at this point. He's got plenty of flaws still, though.

As a note, some people thought VY would "revolutionize" the game, too... hopefully if we draft Newton he actually does :)

He reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger because of his size and mobility. Also because they both ran a spread offense in college. It is hard to choose because Newton had such a successful season last year.

So who does he remind you of and please do not just put Newton=QB name. I have seen it in so many threads. At least give some support for your comparison/opinion.

Yeah he came to mind, but I would say Ben makes use of his physical tools moreso than A-rod. I really wonder if Ben's all that smart, but his ability to break tackles behind the scrimmage simplifies the game. Corners can get lax when they think the QB is tackled and from that point, it's just up to Ben and the WR to improvise. They get a LOT of big plays like that. Rodgers is definitely athletic but he doesn't play with that being the focus. Very heady player. Therefore, when looking at playstyle, I think it's more reasonable for Cam to play like Ben than Rodgers.

I envision Steve McNair, a tough, competitive QB, who could extend plays with his legs, but also developed into a very good pocket passer.

I also think some about Brunell. Cam has a much better arm, and is much bigger, but I think we could expect a similar style in scrambling ability. When Brunell was at his best, he could really pick a team apart with his arm and his legs.

In both cases, I am comparing their play styles more than projected results.
