Some Cheese Head wrote "An Open Letter To Julius Peppers"

I am starting to think the same way. We are in a very bad negotiating spot, and everyone knows this.

The only thing that we have going for us, is a very bad D line draft class coming out this year. We will need a team that thinks that they are one "piece" from being great, and for Pep to think that too.

This board will go nuts when we get a 2nd for him.

KC was in the same boat last off season, Jared Allen declared he wanted to be traded they said nope and tagged him. Then after words traded him for the picks after the league knew he didn't want to be in KC.

Peppers is considered to have more talent then Allen and the situation for peppers is considered to be compared to White being available when he left philly. (that was talked about at the senior bowl by an unnamed gm) He'll get us a first if we tag and trade him, we'll probably get something close to what the Allen trade did last season if not more.

I think we are going to see a run on him. Too many teams want elite potential on the defensive line. Not saying it's been delivered per se, but the potential is there and coaches have egos too. Just like we thought David Carr was not handled right in Houston and we will be able to "fix" him teams forget about the wanting to leave issues and will pony up at the chance to get Peppers, especially after a 14 sack year.

Just a feeling, we probably going to see soon. Definitely don't think there will be any two 1st rounders in our future, but I could see a deal like KC got last year...

Also possible.

All it really takes is one team to take a hot interest. If it becomes two teams, then the price goes up. Three or more, jackpot!

Anything can happen.

Another possibility with a team already mentioned, Miami, is them giving us both of their 2nd round picks this year and their 2nd round in next years draft for him.

Some on here might think that is not enough but unlike last year, this year's draft class is not so "top heavy" meaning the drop off in talent from the 20th pick to the 60th pick is not that steep. Think about having 5 second round draft picks in the next two drafts leading to 4 or 5 starters/key reserves without contracts that cause a significant cap hit....I likey.

I really hope we get enough to retool for him...we have many holes and truth be told, its not good to mortgage the team for one player...I guess unless its Peyton Manning.

Young legs with talent and cheap is a good thing.

It would be nice to have a reason to care about this year's draft.

I'll admit it. I do watch the bloody thing.....at least the first 2 rounds...and then, if I have nothing else to do, the rest. Its a sickness :)

they polled a bunch of players about rules and pretty much no one that played knew about any of the rules they asked about. If he's a moron then I feel bad about the league. It's full of dumb people making billions of dollars.

If you are talking about the Players sadly I would actually agree. The majority I have heard talk sound pretty limited to me. They understand football terminology after playing it for 20 years but about the rest of life many are pretty stupid.

For every one player like Mike Minter or Roger Staubach who are very successful buisnessmen, there are a bunch who don't have a clue.

And talking down to me because my opinion did not agree with yours makes you what? Plain stupid is my vote.

I find it ironic that you were repsponding negative about my smart ass remark with......a smart ass remark.

Pot meet kettle.

Welcome to the world of an internet.

With all due respect to Julius, comparisons with Reggie White are just ridiculous at this point.

Agreee 100%.

Peppers has more God Given Talent than just about anyone in the NFL. He lacks the drive and heart of the great ones...like White. White was a beast...had a non-stop motor and a nasty streak in him on the field. Gentleman off the field.....beast on the field.

Ya know you are really correct.

I've been playing with a mock draft this morning, and I swear to God in heaven I can't find someone I like in the first 20 picks of the draft.

Too many "Motor" concerns for big contracts.

Good, nor should anyone. Anyone one can be big and bad behind their monitor.

Agreed...sometimes I let the fact that my day is sucking jade my responses with a little too much sarcasm.

I have come to accept all of my shortcomings......so everyone else should accept my shortcomings as well.:D
