So I might as well admit it...

lol the only people giving the post pie are the well known Newton fans

fuging admit that if this guy would have said it was Gabbert every one of you would be "lol bunch of bullpoo you dont have no source!"

I think the fact that I am not saying it's Gabbert is the convincing part.

I'm not directing that at you I'm directing it at the several Newton fans that would have dismissed this thread as lies had you said anyone BUT Newton.

Whay difference does who gives who pie make. The Haters poo on every pro cam thread and blew up the Narwocki report to the tune of 4 different threads presenting the guy as the greatest ever at draftniking (is that even a word?).

So.... if this was Gabbert we would probably do what carolinacatbrigade did and question whether he had sources or not. No big deal. That is called a message board.

When I really think about it, I am pretty excited about the possibility of Newton or Gabbert coming to the Panthers. I think both can help turn the franchise around. Who do I think has the highest potential to turn the team around? Newton, by far.

In college, Newton showed his brilliance in the best football conference in the NCAA (I'm a little biased). Who cares how he did. The fact is he did it, and he did it against the best competition he could face. He will have to learn a pro system, but there's nothing to suggest he cannot do that. While there have been many players that have not been able to adjust in the past, there have also been plenty of guys that have. There's really no way of telling which side of the fence he will fall on at this point, but if he falls on the "getting it" side, the Panthers may get their franchise QB.

It is hard to make any judgement on the rumor offered up by Verge, just as it is for all other rumors we have heard.

As to the mentor question, Moore is not going to be a vet tutor to a rookie. He is young enough that the last thing he is thinking about is developing someone to potentially take his job.

Clausen won't teach either. Not only for the reason stated above, but also because he doesn't have a clue as to how to be an NFL QB yet.

We have to rely on Shula, or we have to bring in an older vet, like Hasselbeck. Someone who understands that the end of their career is near.
