Agents

If the new CBA has a rookie salary cap for first rounders, how far would it go?

I have heard that they would all be 4 year deals. If the money and years are set......If so, what need would first rounders have of an agent? Why pay those guys anything? Just get one in the final year of your first contract.

What am i missing? I know to do this. you would have to be sure of your first round status.

This new rookie salary cap will also mean more trades and don't expect the Panthers to pick until their full time on the clock is up. Nobody will be having to work a week ahead of time on the agent to see if the first pick can be signed any longer. So, just because you don't hear of a trade a week out, does not mean one will not happen.

Sure, i understand that, but would it be wise for someone like Peterson to just hire an agent to handle is endorsements and if he did a good job on those, hire him in 3 1/2 years to negotiate his second contract for football.

I would not want to pay an agent for something they have had no input or bearing on.

    • He will be good but I don't think he has that level of speed to be elite.
    • Canales never comes straight out and says he and Idzik were JO buddies, but man is it difficult to read it and come away with a different conclusion. 1. the book isn’t edited. They it through spellcheck once and published it. It’s really disjointed and at times the story kinda chanted within like two paragraphs. 2. Neither of them are going to write the great gatsby any time soon and it reads like they dictated it. Except the part where Dave talks about his apologies which is VERY carefully crafted (comparably) with lots of “I felt like I was being honest at the time, but I NOW realize I wasn’t” type poo. So there’s tons of stuff that really shouldn’t be in print. And it’s a combination of stuff where after you go back and read it you say “excuse me what?” off the top of my head within like two pages he’ll say something like “growing closer with the staff than my wife,” “late nights using porn to relax,” “bonding with the coaches.”  The book opens with Canales getting the Bucs offensive coordinator job and they both tell a different recollection of it. Someone (probably Idzik) comes over to celebrate. Dave remembers saying “we were just so excited to talk about how this new role would help us share Christ’s message” or something like that.  Izzy was getting wine drunk in bed (always a sign of a happy marriage) during all this and heavily implies they went out to a strip club to celebrate then when they come back home drunk she says something like “Dave always loved to relax with his friends and a thick cigar.” Like damn Dave get your wife under control. Idzik is also an evangelical who has a lot of…unfortunate…”sermons” on Facebook that’ll probably stop him from ever getting a job away from Dave. Also an impressive gay affect if you’ve never heard him speak. Sheena mentions one time the reason Dave wouldn’t give up play calling duties was because the offense was in rough shape and he “cared about Brad too much to do that to him.” Go watch the clip of Bryce and Brad celebrating after the packers game. Makes all the more salacious whispers about young make a little more sense.
    • It's less him they dont trust and that offensive line. Hes been sacked more than anybody in the country.
