I know its a long shot..but how would you guys feel if we signed Garcia to a one year deal or maybe two.. and letting him come in and compete for the job...I know it sounds crazy. but think he protects ball better and he moves around in the pocket which will help our Wr's get open and prolly would save money if we cut Delhomme.

Kill it!

I wouldn't mind it one bit. He's a winner...period. And I agree with you that he does a better job of protecting the ball . He won in Philly, they let him go. He wins in Tampa, they let him go. Again, I'd have no qualms at all brining him in to compete for a starting job.

Oh hell no :nonod:

Put Garcia in a West Coast offense (like he had in Philadelphia, Tampa and San Francisco) and he looks great. Take him out of that system (like in Cleveland and Detroit) and he stinks.

The Panthers do not run a West Coast offense.

Add in that he's 38 (shortly to be 39) and his age was really starting to show over the last part of the 08 season.

Hey, who is the team that brought back Vinny?

Garcia is a winner. I just don't know if our offense plays to his strengths.

If it meant David Carr was being benched I wouldve accepted us signing Archie Manning. However, Garcia is a west coast system type of guy and only won while with that system. We dont run west coast anymore, not since Seifert. This isnt Madden, you cant change the fortune of a team by adding a player with 2 higher points on his OVR. Why dont they get the "QB of the future" and groom him up, play Jake until the arm falls completely off, take the ball out of Jake's hand when he is playing like a meth addict version of Favre, run the freaking bejesus out the ball, and cross our fingers instead of signing slightly effete, over the hill, system QB's.
