Blaine Gabbert's hush hush character issue: underage drinking, fighting

The two aren't even close to being comparable.

That said I had not heard about it. However that is mainly because Blaine appears to have had very little to do with it other than being the guys brother.

Valid argument. All I know is most of us, at some point in our life, either have bought hot merchandise, or overstated charitable contributions to the IRS, or something else equivalent.

It is largely a matter of perspective and is not as cut-and-dried as many make it out to be. Few of us are saints. It also often holds true that those who are the most outspoken about a lack of values turn out to have the worst character, as evidenced by more than a few TV preachers and politicians.

There's like one guy on this forum who wants Blaine Gabbert first overall and that's because he wants a QB, but not Newton, and doesn't think we'll take Locker. I'm the only one who really likes Gabbert and I don't want a QB #1 overall.

For some reason, people think if you don't want Newton or say you'd prefer Gabbert it means you actually *want* Gabbert at #1 overall all that much.

Jimmy got punched in the face leaving a restaurant with his parents, he's a gangster right?

It would be more of a character issue if he let his brother get his ass kicked.

Cam guys are reaching hard here

And you Cam haters bring up the same sh*t every post.

Yes, and do some research about it next time if you really want to consider it a character issue. His brother basically got jumped for taking too long to piss, so Blaine and a friend defended him. The fight was broken up way before police even arrived and no citations were given and no arrests were made.

While it's very likely Blaine had been drinking, we don't know if he was drunk or how much alcohol was involved at all.

The reality is that having your brother get punched in a restaurant is not a character concern. Speculated under aged drinking is not a character concern. Being cited is, though how serious is debatable depending on the offense. Being arrested is pretty fugging serious no matter how old you are when it happens.

I like the part where you posted a lin.....oh wait.

Amazing how this thread shuts the Blaine supporters up.

Speechless.

Idiocy is spreading it seems.

Nope, actually not everyone does this. Some people seem to manage to get through life by living by the rules.

Cam has been under a microscope ever since the recruiting scandal. Everything else just started blowing up during that and has lingered up until now. Which by the way the recruiting scandal is by far not over yet if you read into what Warren Moon said, "And yes that recruiting scandal is still out there as far as what actually happened between Mississippi State and Auburn, and I think that story will come out in due time. And I think I know the real story of it but it’s not for me to talk about it right now.” So the NCAA or what Cam is telling teams drafting him is not the truth. Warren Moon doesn't want to talk about the truth at this time. That looks like a future head ache for Cam dealing with that probably during the season instead of during draft time and hurting his draft stock.

If it would have been one of the white QB getting into the recruiting scandal then allegations of cheating 3 times on test at his previous school along with the buying the stolen laptop on top of that winning the NC and Heisman, the white boy would be all over the headlines dealing with the scrutiny before draft. And if Cam would have been the one who only had the possible underage drinking and getting into a fight protecting his brother but not getting arrested or cited, it wouldn't of made the news either.

Pretty much a stretch here for Cam supporters.

And to the question about which is worse. Buying stolen property is worse to me then a college student drinking underage and getting into a fight to protect his brother.

And I'm not a "Any QB" supporter. Still want Patrick Peterson.

He was in a drunken brawl at 1:30am. You can try and pretend like you know anything else about the story, but you don't unless you can post a link.

It's not a huge deal, but it IS worthy of having SOMEONE in the media having mentioned it instead of always saying how he has zero character concerns and nothing fishy in his past whatsoever like they do every time they bring him up.

You are right because the only way people can EVER know about anything is if there is a link posted about it on the internet:rolleyes:

It's not like people who have connections to Mizzou (Mav) or people with other connections to people in the NFL don't know the whole stories.

It's not a character concern, he defended his brother who basically got jumped. That shows leadership and loyalty at it's best.

Bwahahaha! Thanks for that one kiddo. Mav was wrong or lying, here's an article with more info:

http://www.columbiatribune.com/weblogs/behind-the-stripes/2010/feb/16/cleaning-up-some-facts/

"Two clarifications on our story regarding the three Missouri players who were involved in [the incident at Gumby’s Pizza][1]:

Originally, I wrote that the scuffle started when one of the MU players was using the restroom and was hassled for taking too long by a group of males. I had it backwards: Columbia police spokeswoman Officer Jessie Haden confirmed on Tuesday that it was in fact the players who were upset with another male who was in the restroom. From there, the verbal exchange started."

----------------

So the players started it. See how great it can be when you actually use links?

I actually follow the team so I heard about it when it happened. I'm sure if you look around you'll find something from people who witnessed it.

I'm sure the Panthers have looked into it.
