Blaine Gabbert's hush hush character issue: underage drinking, fighting

Personally I don't think any of the off the field issues with Cam or Gabbert are big deals.

Cam....Cheated on a test (most college students have).....bought a cheap laptop from another student that he did/did not know was maybe stolen (bad decision, but not a heinous crime).

Gabbert....drank a few beers and got into a fight (hell, even I did that in college)

I believe that the staff is more concerned with how they believe both will transition to the NFL....how both will be as a team mate....the leadership qualities that both exhibit.

I am not sold that either is a franchise guy. But, if our staff believe either is....then I say go get him and let's move forward.

If they have major ??'s about whether either is....I hope they pass on both.

The laptop nor cheating really concerns me about Newton's character. The only thing that does that is rarely mentioned is the disobeying of the coach in the national championship game. More of an 'I' before 'you' attitude.

If that is overcome in the interview process along with techniques, he would be a good pick.

I don't have a dog in the fight, so whatever happens, I'll support.
