Gus Malzahn blasts Nawrocki (PFW)'s account of Newton

I've never seen Mr. Scot melt down over any subject, but apparently Cam is that subject that pushed him over the top.

I also never saw Mr. Scot attack any poster for any reason, until the possibility of Cam Newton being drafted #1 overall.

In the vein of trying to be a fair minded and objective poster, I often take into account others opinions that differ from mine on any given subject, in order to ensure that I AM in fact being fair and considering both sides of the argument (even when I have chosen a side).

But Mr. Scot's "argument" here is proving to be an emotionally driven rallying cry for everything Anti-Cam Newton, and it has lost its direction, if it ever had any. Bumping threads up, making 5 threads a day, posting in every positive spin on Cam to dispute it, then accusing the people that post about Cam in those threads to be dumb and emotionally involved to the point that they can't think logically. This is truly sad.

For everything that is pro-Cam he makes sure to enter the thread and trashes it. He has posted the most Anti-Cam threads out of anybody by a LARGE margin. He hasn't posted ANY thread showing positives about Cam from analysts - this from someone who isn't "emotionally invested" in the argument... But attacks others for being "emotionally invested." He has attacked people personally over their views on it. It's just really sad and it's getting old.

Let it go man, if he's our pick, he's our pick - if he's not, he's not. It's not that serious. I'm just tired of seeing this crap.

The Cam subject has seemed to struck a lot of nerves on the Huddle. Personally I think its all a little stupid (and that goes for both sides of the fence). Blame it on the Teeray LOL.

If you're talking about your medical issue, I wish you the best of luck and I pray that it's nothing serious and you'll quickly recover... But, what does that have to do with continuing these Anti-Cam volleys you are bumping up even today? And linking that in the football forum?

I'm not emotional about who we pick in the draft because I have bigger things to worry about.

I'm posting a lot because I have a lot of time on my hands and no strength to do much else.

I'm talking a lot about Newton because that's about all anybody wants to talk about (in this forum, anyway).

It's that simple.

To be fair, I have been purposefully avoiding The Huddle because of the Cam Spam, so I can't say what Mr. Scot has done, except for the last couple of days...which don't necessarily support his argument. Maybe I'll have to go back into hibernation, and return after the selections have been made.

I guess there is nothing to talk about except bad ol' Cam (on and off the field), and how this all relates to racism.

LOL, guess any ole idiot can coach the offense that wins the BCS huh?

In his case yes. Gus was a HS coach, the only reason he got a college gig in the first place was his gimmick offenses and Arkansas wanted his HS QB. They made sure it was a combo deal.

Mitch Mustain was gone very quickly and Malzahn lasted due to the wildcat he ran for a season, then punt kicked as well. Gus did ok at the University of Tulsa but they were about to part ways with him when he took his next gig.

I have been to his coaching clinics, have ate with the man and talked with him, really friendly but honestly, he can't run a legit College offense. He has to run gimmick offenses or the man doesn't succeed.

Ill give mine.... Agent driven to look good for the media.

Lemme put to words what some in the Pro-Newton crowd seem unable to fathom regarding the Anti-Newton crowd:

- We don't hate him. In fact, we have no personal feelings about him at all. He's just another football player.

- We have no desire to see him fail or have tragedy befall him. Why should we? What would it benefit us?

- We don't care that he's black. In fact, there's a load of white guys most of us don't want either.

- We simply think, for football reasons, that he's not worth the Panthers taking him with the #1 overall pick.

It really is that simple.

Now if you want to argue that he is worth it, well and good, as long as you bring football logic to the discussion. When, instead, you throw out stuff like "you hate him", "you're racist" or "you don't care about winning" or any other such personal argument, you don't help your case.

In fact, the only thing you actually do accomplish by saying that stuff is to make yourselves look really stupid :frown2:

The truth is that if Newton is drafted here, those of us who were against it happening will stand behind the choice and hope that we were wrong. Nobody's leaving the fanbase in protest because they drafted Cam Newton, and no one's going to hope that he fails or gets hurt. Quite the opposite, we'll hope for his success because that's what'll be best for the team.

If he isn't drafted, then the vast majority of us won't really care what happens to him - good or bad - because he won't be a Panther.

And that's pretty much all there is to it. I'm not sure why some find that so difficult to understand :nonod:

lololololololololololololol

Hope you get to feeling better and I understand tons of time on your hands :( And unfortunately we are both stuck as the board members can't get Newton out of their heads as he is the media darling

LOL, if you're winning the BCS, especially in the SEC, I'd say your offense is short on Gimmicks and long on execution of a solid playbook.

This is just too much... :rolleyes5:

Yes Gimmick. We will see how long he lasts at Auburn, if his history is any indication not very long
